I spent two nights at 3 a.m. in the UK trying to get Blackpink tickets for their Bangkok gigs. I sat in a virtual queue for over an hour, and when I finally got through, the only tickets left were standing — which she didn’t want.

After that, I suggested booking hotel rooms overlooking the stadium she didn’t want those either. In the UK, at BST in Hyde Park, I even managed to negotiate a ticket from a tout for £85 once the concert was already underway she still didn’t want to go.

In her dithering, she just couldn’t be bothered to actually see them but I did try.

Oh, and when the Bangkok show was on at the National Stadium, we went down to the place to see what it was all about. We could hear the music from outside, along with the rest of the crowd standing among acres of fake merchandise stalls. The official merch like the Blackpink light hammer was going for 4,500 baht!

She and the rest of her ilk are milking gullible fans for their hard-earned cash while pretending to be their friends.

I was careful to say my comment was directed to all the bitter losers on here who only criticise. I did not direct it at you, it was a general comment. Although, to be fair, you normally leave a negative comment on nearly every single thread: 63,000 of them and counting.

And she entered a talent competition when she was 13 and was the only one out of 4,000 to be accepted. How exactly should "Thailand" have had to foresight to "train her and reap the rewards"?

Didn't Prayuth annouce her for some post covid shindig in Phuket which had Bocelli but she didn't bite. That said she did do lasy year at Icon Siam - I was forced to watch it with my extended family in our condo in Jomtien where she lip-synced all the way through.Oh and why I am bitter I even joined Blink the fan club so I would be in with a chance for the Bangkok tickets only to find in the small print you had to have joined before the date I did to get priority. That's how much I love my wife - Lisa or Lalisa not so much !

She is simply incredible, she sings and dances at the same time, she doesn't just sing and not dance, that's why her performances are never boring and she always has and transmits a lot of energy. There is always a tendency to value only singing and high notes but people don't value what really makes you a good performer, that is everything together such as dancing, singing, rap, expressions, duality, stage presence, security, fluidity and obviously enjoy on stage. The people who can give incredible presentations and fill the stage without having to make a lot of high notes that are sometimes unnecessary and annoying are the people who were truly born with talent and were born to be on stage. Singing well is just a skill, just singing and hitting high notes doesn't make you talented at all. I'm not saying that Lisa is the best singer in the world because of course, there are artists who sing better because they only dedicate themselves to that or it's their main skill but, Lisa's vocals are good enough to make good presentations. If you want to see someone just singing just go, no one is stopping you, if you stay to send comments about hate, it's obvious that you just want to put Lisa down because like I said, if you don't like this type of presentation, just leave, it's simple friend . Here Lisa is not just serving vocals but serving everything that makes you enjoy a performance.

Actually Amita was the first Thai singer to go Inter (international). Her Dad was American and had his offices in Patpong2 back in the day.

It is called an advertising campaign. It is the same reason Sylvester Stallone was used to sell beer in Japan. Louis Vuitton went with Rihanna, Chanel with Timothee Chalamet, Lee Know with Gucci and so on.  They have a fan base, they have marketing cachet.

There is nothing wrong with TAT. In the USA, California used Betty White. Jackie Chan was used in Hong Kong. 

Thailand has a  solid advertising  sector and has some excellent advertisement campaigns. How about you  wait and see what the campaign will be before bashing TAT?

She speaks Thai, Korean and English fluently. Speaks Japanese and Chinese quite well, and has been learning French for quite a while.

The TAT had to order more brochures after discovering that many had the pages stuck together and were rendered useless.

Tata definitely had plenty of ahem..charm, charisma and talent from where I was standing. 

I assume this would be a paid Tourism Ambassador position using tax payers money ? If so, TAT will presumably be sharing details of the arrangement shortly ?

 

With a stated target of a 5-10 million increase in tourists, that must be one hell of a budget to recruit Lisa 

 

I can’t recall too many memorable celebrity tourism campaigns, back in the day, Paul Hogan did some good ones for the US off the back of Crocodile Dundee.
