I'm certainly NOT a historian type when it comes to public health matters... more of a current affairs aficionado....

 

But if there was any value to be found in this thread at all, it was by chance learning for the first time about the important historical role of John Snow and his fundamental contributions to developing the fields of public health and epidemiology. 

 

Sadly, these days, many of the posters in this subforum crudely call public health and medical field leaders and scientists "criminals" and ignorantly accuse them of dispensing "poisons."

Excellent article.  Men like John Snow are heros.  That is probably why I have never heard of him prior to reading the article.  He was using logic and common sense to identify and correct the cholera.
