A 20-year-old navy sergeant sustained serious injuries after jumping from a fourth-floor flat in Sattahip, Chon Buri, in the early hours of 19 October 2025. The incident occurred after the victim reportedly jumped from the balcony to escape an alleged sexual assault attempt by a senior navy officer. Emergency responders from the Sawang Rojanatham Sathan Sattahip Rescue Foundation were alerted at 03:05 and quickly coordinated with Sattahip and Military Police to the scene.

Upon arrival, officers and rescue workers found the injured man lying on a lawn in front of the building. He had sustained a broken right arm and left leg and was in visible distress. Rescue personnel provided first aid before transferring him to Queen Sirikit Naval Hospital for urgent medical treatment.

According to initial statements given to officers, the young sergeant said that a senior navy colleague had attempted to sexually assault him in his room. Overcome by fear, he decided to jump from the balcony in a desperate attempt to escape. The statement was later confirmed to investigating officers, who began gathering further evidence at the site.

Police investigators from Sattahip Station have since reported the incident to their superiors and begun an official inquiry. CCTV footage from the area is being reviewed and all involved parties, including the alleged perpetrator’s command unit, will be questioned. Authorities emphasised that the investigation aims to ensure fairness to all sides while establishing the facts.

The Royal Thai Navy has been informed of the incident and is expected to conduct an internal review once the police investigation is complete. The case has raised concerns within the service about disciplinary conduct and the handling of sexual misconduct allegations in military housing.
