Visa Help For Thai Girlfriends Mother Coming To Uk

Featured Replies

I'm currently living in the uk with my thai girlfriend (who is now a british citizen) and we've been together

for nearly 4 years.

We are now expecting a baby early next year and was hoping it'd be possible to bring her mother over from thailand to see the baby. I have no experience in sorting out visa's and to be honest, I'm at a total loss where to start.

Can anyone give me some advice on the process/cost etc.

Many thanks

She should apply for a visitors visa to visit family from here . Check out the notes and this forum and return with specific questions if you have.

Thanks for the link.

A couple of questions:

Does her mother still need to apply for the visitors visa herself as we (or I more likely) will be sponsoring her, paying for ticket, and supporting her while she stays.

I read the Sponsors info and I'm under the impression that I just need to send the required evidence to her with a letter, which she takes along with her to the embassy.

Her mum will need to apply in person at the Uk visa aplication center, you can sort out all her paper work, you can even fill out the aplication form for her and she will just need to sign it.
