You can't 'good drive' your way out of the truck behind having 'brake failure'...

You stated there is nothing you can think of that 'can' change your life - in reality there are plenty, but you seems to have a couple of the key ones checked off (i.e. good woman, being fit, businesses are diverse and sufficient).... but there is a lot more out there that has been mentioned which 'could' change your life over night...

For your sake your woman stays that way.

Everyone gets humbled eventually.

I worked out 3-4 days a year, heavy weights, 50 years until I moved here and didn't have as much opportunity to work out as much, although I was in great shape all those years, especially with the healthy diet all those years. No smoking, occasional drinking and no sicknesses. At 60 I was still buff and very strong. Now of course, like everyone else, you lose most of that strength because age happens, although you're still stronger than most people. And all of a sudden you have pains where you didn't before. And funny thing, most of it comes from that constant exercising and joint use.

I move here and got H Pylori, and my gut was messed up for the last 2+ years. it's something that can lead to cancer if you don't eradicate it and it comes from kissing or drinking water, especially in SE Asia, where it's more prevalent.

I have a good friend that has done almost the same things, exercise and diet, and he was driving his Harley in the country near his home, and a deer ran out in front of him and he hit it and crashed, really messing up his knee where he needed surgery and it was never the same again. Anyone no matter how good a driver can get hit anytime by a bad one.

Everyone who exercises often and eats well is fit as a fiddle, until father time takes over. And it comes sooner than you think.

But no problem. You are just waiting to go home, right?

Seems like your healthy diet and too much exercise has messed up your life. I do a few push-ups in the morning, take a walk after lunch, have been drinking in general 3 big bottles of Chang per day for the last 23 years. No need for a healthy diet, just common sense. I little bit of <deleted> never killed anybody.

But the big question is. Why are you not home yet?

Yes, you can. It´s called being awake and aware. You can simply move out of the way.

Yeah, you should know. You are the professional.

On the other hand. Is the second hand left, or right? Is the other hand 100%, ok?

Wow, 732 posts in a thread that isn't yours, which is more than double that of the next contender, and you claim not always wanting to have the last word.

Life must be boring with your hi-so wife if you have so much time on your hands.

No, my healthy diet and exercise has kept me from having a more severe situation as far as my gut microbiome. I had my first colonoscopy last year at 68 and no polyps. I rarely get sick and recover quickly when I have a cold, which is rare.

My best alive friend drank a 6 pack or more a day, until he fell, drunk, and hit his head. Then he was admitted to a hospital and now has dementia from that drinking, and lives in a care facility. he used to walk everywhere, and walked the Appalachian Trail twice. Always ate pretty well, and never smoked.

If you eat crappy all your life, you'll eventually pay, even if some get away with it. We're not home yet because it takes a lot of planning to move around the world, and the house I'm in I need to get money for.

Being a defensive driver, learning it in New Jersey -New York area first, I try to stay away from everyone, but have also avoided a hundred close calls because of bad drivers here. You never know when one might come along you can't avoid, as speed happens all over and you can't dodge everyone, especially if they're aiming for you.

Aw... come on... If you've decided to troll me, at least be more creative than this.... I mean, put some intellect into it - something I can get my teeth into with a decent response.

Ok, so you invested everything in your new life that went tits up in Thailand. Think about that a while now. Not very smart choice, right?

You must always have a backup in life. Now you are sitting there, without knowing if you will get any money or not.

Stupid. They are not aiming for you. They are just generally bad drivers.

But a beautiful daughter was created from it, so the crap was worth it. I do have a backup. Moving back to a much better country for her and myself.

If you start lifting weights again, I recommend avoiding lifting HEAVY.

Lift light weights, with high reps. You can still maintain good tone and strength, but may not get as big.

I did some research over the past year and came to the conclusion that men over 50 need to stop using heavy weights as the risk of injury is way too high.

And I met 2 guys in the gym with constant injuries who were pushing themselves too hard with heavy weights.

Or ... do whatever you like -- at your own risk.

Drive enough miles in Thailand and you'll see. Bad drivers are everywhere, and every time you leave the house here you're taking a chance. Defensive driving here isn't like it is in the west.

How is this in any way relevant to the OP?

Seems to be rambling comments of the older members.

I've done it a very long time, and the only thing I did wrong was lifting so heavy for so long. Now it's the same exercises with less weight. No need for high reps but doing what you can for 8-10 upper body and 12-15 lower. Forearms and calves up to 20 reps. I never got that big and never did drugs. Just toned, ripped and strong. Doesn't matter as much anymore as it's mostly for health.Heavy weights aren't necessary anytime unless you're competing.

Yes, you can. It´s called being awake and aware. You can simply move out of the way.

You are suggesting that you are such a good driver that you can predict every single incident that may occur and take avoiding action...

For example: even if you are the second driver, stopped at lights and an articulated lorry rolls down the hill with brake failure - you are so alert, you'd be able to identify this in time move your car out of the way, even though you are effectively blocked in... and then you'll state you never allow yourself to 'get blocked in in the first place' which of course would be stellar BS...

Cam's delusion in this thread is clearly contagious !!! - No matter how alert, how aware, and how skilled you delude yourself into believing you are - you simply cannot avoid certain things.

I know that was an attempt at humour - didn't really work.

Anyway - don't want to turn this into another Fredwiggy-IsmeUno twit-fest...

As is the last 2 pages here by three other members. Yes, we all can get back to Cameroni's topic, as I don't feed the trolls anymore.

Normally, I am not blocked in. However, it exists, and in that case, i would, instead of getting crushed by a lorry, rev the engine and smash my way out in one direction by hitting or moving another car.

Thanks for the clarification. I´ve waited over 28 years for that one! 😂

You are just too much. Buy a ticket now and go home. You will not get anything from the house anyway.

Yeah, I am adaptable. I don´t play the lottery. Have enough and don´t believe in luck. An illness, sure, but most of them are treatable. Not that old, so I am in the real risk zone yet as well. Accident, sure, but I am a careful guy. Also, quite experienced. Not putting myself in a war zone. Neither do I feel the need to run. Walking is ok, but not for miles. That´s just boring.

Great, can I borrow your crystal ball so I can also predict the future, things can change on a sixpence, and what has luck to do with anything? Where did I mention luck.

I suspect many people as I do try and restrict risk but yet things happen, we just do not know, and simply if you do not like walking far or running then do not do it, simples, I did not say it was compulsory, I do not understand such silly negative comment some people make, this is a discussion not a competition ?

We do our best in life yet we must be ready for any contingency, eg I have £150,000 put aside in a bank in cash plus another £150,000 in a credit facility which can be instantly taken as cash in case I need to repatriate myself back to the UK to use the National Health Service for free for example.

We don't put ourselves in war zones, was zones put themselves on us, ask anyone who is trapped in one (but do it by phone as it is safer 😃)

Oh no, @richard_smith237 you just don't get it, some people on this blog are expert in anything from being an untouchable superman driver, to having fantastic reflexes, to being able to see five seconds ahead into the future, thus danger is averted.

The rest of us are injured in accidents, catch lethal diseases and do not use those superpowers as we are all of course subconsciously committing suicide, just like the 24,000 people killed on Thai roads a year with another few hundred thousand injured, it is all their own fault init. 😀

Those people killed in aircraft accidents combined their individual will power to force the aircraft to crash, the expert though would have timed it right and jumped off the plane ten seconds before it crashed thus surviving the crash.

Some of us ordinary but defensive drivers can avoid basic accidents for example two days ago, two motorbikes crashed into each other just in front of the car I was driving , if I had not been paying attention and did not brake in time the two riders and one passenger would have been seriously hurt or killed, but I do not think I will ever achieve superman driver status. 😃

I can't say, he seems to have disappeared off his own blog, probably due to the realisation he has backed himself into a corner with his own evidence, he was the prosecutor, judge and defence lawyer all in one and the prosecutor won the case.
