People in Gaza cannot afford to wait for aid, the Foreign Secretary has said, as she piled pressure on Israel to lift restrictions on lifesaving supplies.

Yvette Cooper will travel to Jordan on Monday to witness how desperately-needed aid is being held up at the border. She will visit a warehouse stuffed with aid paid for by Britain that is being blocked from entering the war-ravaged strip.

Ahead of the visit, she said: “The people of Gaza cannot afford to wait." Türkiye has called on Israel to halt its repeated violations of a United States-brokered ceasefire in Gaza and to allow vital humanitarian aid into the besieged Palestinian enclave.

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan made the appeal following a high-level summit in Istanbul on Monday (3 November), attended by top diplomats from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Pakistan and Indonesia.

The meeting sought to address the deteriorating situation in Gaza and to discuss the framework for a proposed international stabilisation force backed by the United Nations.

On Nov. 1, 2025 US Central Command (CENTCOM) released drone footage showing Hamas operatives looting a humanitarian aid truck in southern Gaza. According to CENTCOM, the US-led Civil-Military Coordination Center in Kiryat Gat observed the incident via an MQ-9 drone while monitoring the Israel–Hamas ceasefire. Reports state that the individuals attacked the driver, stole the truck and the aid, and left the driver on the road median.
