Bangkok police arrested a 32-year-old programmer, identified as Kapkan or “Zo”, on 8 November 2025 for possessing methamphetamine and counterfeit banknotes. The suspect reportedly used fake euros to pay a hired entertainer at a condominium in Wong Sawang. Authorities seized drugs and several counterfeit Thai and foreign banknotes during the raid.

The arrest followed a report on 7 November from Arinrada, who said she was paid 300 euros in three 100-euro notes, which were later found to be fake. Police were then tipped off that Zo possessed illegal substances in his condo. Officers coordinated with the building management to access room 967, where Zo cooperated and allowed the search.

During the search, police found two sealed plastic bags containing methamphetamine, weighing 1.53 grams and 0.66 grams respectively, along with the packaging. Zo admitted the drugs were his and confessed to using them. Authorities also found counterfeit Thai notes: two 1,000-baht bills and one 500-baht bill, plus 100-euro and 100 USD, counterfeit notes in his clothing, which he acknowledged as fake, obtained from a foreign national in RCA.

Zo reportedly revealed that he had been inspired by a previous incident where Chinese tourists handed out counterfeit foreign notes in a nightclub. He kept the notes as examples and later attempted to replicate them using cotton-based paper and an older coin-operated photocopier. When the results were unsatisfactory, he resorted to folding the fake banknotes to pay for entertainment services.

Authorities formally charged Zo with possession of Category 1 narcotics, illegal use of methamphetamine and possession of counterfeit Thai and foreign banknotes with intent to use. Urine tests confirmed methamphetamine presence, and the suspect was detained at the Investigation Division, Division 5, Bangkok Metropolitan Police, pending further legal proceedings.
