Why? Cigarettes don't kill people!

The consumer product that kills the most people is

tobacco.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), tobacco use is the leading preventable cause of death globally, responsible for approximately 8 million deaths every year.

Key facts about tobacco-related mortality:

More than 7 million of these deaths are the result of direct tobacco use.

Around 1.6 million deaths are among non-smokers exposed to secondhand smoke.

Tobacco is the only legal consumer product that kills up to half of its users when used exactly as intended by the manufacturer.

Smoking-related illnesses kill more people annually than the total of all deaths due to alcohol, opioids, suicides, murders, and traffic collisions combined in some regions.

No mention of cannabis, so it must not pollute the air as some think.

Second hand smoke or individual body pollution can't be avoided

Yes and the ignorance around here is unbelievable ^^^. Smokers are in 3 main categories: Complete ignorance/stupidity, Denial, and just Obnoxious! . They think they can smoke any where. Actually Thailand should not even allow " these" cigarette smokers into the country. The locals smoking pollution is bad enough.

Perhaps a visit to the respiratory critical care unit needed.

Of course it's the big tobacco companies "campaign contributions" to the lawmakers that keeps it legal
