A teenager has been arrested in Bangkok after fatally stabbing his wife’s former partner during a confrontation over a washing machine, causing shock among residents in Chom Thong district. Police from Bang Khun Thian Police Station detained the 18-year-old suspect on 13 November, two days after the altercation that left 22-year-old Thongchai Danklang critically injured. Thongchai was taken to hospital with a puncture wound to his left temple but later died.

According to officers, the incident began on 11 November when police received a report of a violent dispute in front of a house at 33/1 Soi Chom Thong 12. At the scene, investigators found evidence of a fight before learning the injured man had already been rushed to hospital. Thongchai’s mother, Thipyarat Sae Tae, 51, confirmed to officers that her son had been involved in a fistfight before collapsing.

Police said the suspect and his wife had gone to Thongchai’s residence to retrieve a washing machine, which the wife claimed from a previous relationship that ended eight months earlier. Upon arrival, Thongchai allegedly confronted and verbally abused the pair, leading to a physical altercation. Emergency responders were called, but Thongchai succumbed to his injuries shortly after being taken to hospital.

During questioning, the suspect admitted that he was carrying the washing machine when Thongchai approached and punched him in the face. He told officers he put the machine down, noticed his motorcycle seat was open, grabbed a green-handled screwdriver inside and struck Thongchai once in the left temple. He said he acted after being attacked but acknowledged causing the injuries that led to the man’s death.

The Daily News reported that police have charged him with “assault causing death” and transferred him to the Thonburi Criminal Court for remand proceedings. Investigators will continue gathering evidence, including witness statements and forensic analysis, as the case moves forward. Authorities said further legal action will follow in accordance with the court process.

Kind of like in sports the retaliation foul is often seen.  Sadly this was a lot more violent and deadly as the man admits he went and got the screwdriver and then struck the victim with it

I am just surprised that the woman, so young , is in at least her 3rd relationship( now with the 18 yr old culprit)... Maybe some education about relationships and behavior in schools would be very needed
