  • Its better than living in the UK

  • Its home, and we are happy here.

  • This is actually a much more complex question than many think... and the poll should have the option of "None of the above". Yes, you get all the usual reasons like cheaper to live here, more fun

relatedly, about your own concerns, why go to Italy when they have the Olive Garden?

Not even an option for her. She's not permitted to ever leave her mom's basement in Adelaide.

Back at dawn of Internet dating, I hooked up with a kinky little minx in Adelaide.

Australian woman were desperate for a man who had read a book and was sober enough to make a fist.

I feel like I had sex with both Kath AND Kim on that trip.

I’ve actually been thinking about moving back to New York City

are you planning the move to NY for the government run grocery stores or for the free buses?...Maybe the rent freeze?

I sent him $100 early in. My hatred of the Cuomo’s knows no bounds.

I was an analyst for New York City subway. If I could be bothered, I could make the case for free buses and win it.

If I don’t do my long cruise of the Indonesian spice Islands, I am looking at sublets for March through May in New York.

Stupid comment

Many from the west don't want to admit it, but they cannot afford to move back.

Sold everything, now have nothing. Sad.

You told us 5000 times

I was just reveling in my many 😆 about moving back to New York City.

Like New York City, where everybody in the world wants to live, is some kind of hell hole.

I was there in the 70s, when everything broke down and it was sort of a hell hole. And it was great.

Ever seen taxi driver? They went out of the way to make it look terrible, and it was still so great.

Republicans hate New York, but few young people dream of moving to Baton Rouge.

How long are you outside their screen door peering in?

Do you ever bring a chair with you to really get a good peer in?

What music are you hearing?

Is it like ABBA if they’re German, or Hotel California if they’re American?

Do you ever get peered back?

Who blinks first?

I have discussed the music before ...many times ! Maybe you missed it ?

They play Lemon Tree by Fools Garden , I believe a 1990s song over & over again

Would you describe yourself as more of a listener or a peerer?

Which gives you more joy?

Didn't know Subway had analysts. But thinking about it, it makes sense.

Environmental issues, community outreach, infrastructure, intergovernment relations

Republicans hate analysis of any kind.

And it shows up in all their outcomes very vividly

just think of their death grip resistance to all of the above issues.

So in other words you had a job as a public/civil servant and did nothing all day but guess how many passengers got off at so & so station ,

I bet you took all your sick leave before you left eh ?

Never done a days work in your life !!

Really they should of had glass walls where you worked so all the taxpayers could come over in their lunch break to see if your working !!

Did you happen to work under Andy Byford by any chance

These outburst shows that your trauma is real. Try to transcend it.

Many people eventually come to find anal dilation to be pleasurable

And lucky you, you are around a mop handle all day long

This is part of the well buggered Republican trauma response.

Thinking that people who have an education and study things are a HOAX!!!!!

There  is also the very funny and inchoate rage that I see in this strange little backwater about the remote possibility that some liberal may be laughing at them.

Ego healthy people can live with that and laugh back.

There are no posters on the right side of this board that even get close to that bare base line of mental health.

Well you should know sweetheart .

Return the sick leave asap  , have some consideration for the taxpayers , you got medically retired ,had a sore bum sitting on that chair all day doing anal-lysing .

What a bludging job you had ,sick leave every Monday morning and then got paid out as medically retired because sat too much on a chair

No conscious sadly

Must be great to ride the gravy train

Yes, you get all the usual reasons like cheaper to live here, more fun, the weather, it's the craziness and alive experience etc. but that doesn't reflect some of the deeper and less well understood reasons for why many want to stay.

Firstly, it's a funny old paradox here, what I mean is, that the longer you stay here and achieve longevity/success (decades in some cases), the harder it becomes to move on (unless you are rich) having invested so much time and effort into it, as you inevitably get more deeply invoved in the country over time through a decent wife, property, job, and all sorts that makes restarting elsewhere become a big ask and only can happen if really motivated to do so by something... plus having surplus cash (some can and some struggle). After long amounts of time, then connections and assets etc. in home countries can diminish and many, not all though, realise they don't have much to go back to at an advancing age... there is much ageism in western countries on many fronts plus the resentment of the young. You could easily end up in some foresaken appartment surrounded by crime and ignored by the whole of society, plus being constantly harrassed/taxed into the next world by the DWP and UK Treasury or IRS etc.

Secondly, many western countries have socially sent themselves down the toilet, and society and culture aren't recognisable to many people any more resulting in a desire to not contribute anything more, and also fear that they would be miserable back in their home countries and ignored. Don't even start on the topic of getting a job these days in the UK etc. if you are over 55... good luck, even the kids can't find jobs.

Thirdly, for the younger types, then the girls, parties, and ease of which it is to scam and break the law in Thailand without being caught probably also appeals to the younger demograpgic of all countries... guess they are rolling the dice.

Forthly, Thailand actually has so much to still offer on almost every front, which most places don't even come close, even if some are catching up fast. Thailand is not the deal it once was, but is still okay if you can navigate the officialdom nonsense and be legit.

Let's be honest, which would you choose as a normal guy that is averagely financially okay, but not rich... London or Bangkok? No contest really.

Well, I cant or want give up my origin country yet, since Im to afraid to become stuck here with to little resources when I get older. Im financially set now, but if something happens, and our valuta continue to drop, another back and stock market crises. And something that becomes more a reality for each year, another war between empires who need to settle once and for all.

God sake I still got 30 more years to go if I am getting as old as my father who is still living.
