In a shocking road-rage incident in Nonthaburi yesterday, Natchanodom Haengwong-ngam, president of a local lawyer association, shot a motorcyclist following a heated confrontation. The incident occurred around 9am at Bang Plu Intersection on Rattanathibet Road. The motorcyclist, Bordin, aged 36, was found with a gunshot wound to his left arm beside his Honda CB500X.

Natchanodom, 65, remained at the scene with his Toyota Altis and surrendered to the authorities. He stated that the conflict began when he signalled to turn left, but Bordin allegedly ignored it, riding too close and kicking the vehicle. Natchanodom claimed that Bordin also gestured offensively, forcing him to follow the biker.

According to Natchanodom, the argument escalated when Bordin allegedly hit his car, prompting an exchange. Natchanodom admitted to firing the shot out of anger after feeling insulted. He maintained that he did not intend to flee and purportedly offered to take Bordin to the hospital, which was declined.

Bordin, however, told Workpoint News that the altercation began when Natchanodom abruptly cut him off, nearly causing a collision. Bordin denied any aggression, explaining he only honked in response. He insisted that he did not kick or use vulgarities, and that Natchanodom hindered his attempts to leave.

The situation took another turn when Bordin’s father revealed that a lawyer, representing Natchanodom, proposed 150,000 baht to settle the matter, fuelling concerns over safety and fairness. Police have officially charged Natchanodom with attempted murder and discharging a firearm in public without cause. His firearm licence is now set for revocation, reported the Thaiger.

Authorities are cautiously examining Natchanodom's claims of self-defence in court. The legal proceedings will determine the outcome, as investigators continue to look into all statements and evidence related to the case.

Key Takeaways

Self defense? Using a gun to shoot the man because he perhaps kicked the door? Or not? Since when does using a gun get considered as self defence when no other weapon i used or no threat to life happens?

Perhaps more so, the police are trying to negotiate to avoid making charges to collect a percentage of the payout or to gain favor within the circle of lawyers he leads.

He was not forced to follow him , he chose to, oh poor little man he felt insulted.. pathetic excuses, will he defend himself in court ????...  :coffee1:

I watched it on the news last night.

There was absolutely no indication that the biker was going physical.

The perp slowly and deliberately took a couple of steps back, almost surreptitiously took out his gun and took careful aim.

It appeared to be a totally unjustifiable act by a cold, calculating psycho.

I am relieved to find that the biker was shot in the arm......... I thought he had been shot in the stomach.
