February 2Feb 2 Author 13 hours ago, Stiddle Mump said:Any clues about this super old motor Chris? And that number plate!Nan years ago was its own Kingdom. The house was their residence. A descendent of the family still lives there. I have met her and had a small guide from her inside the house.I presume and initial registration, worth a fortune if the documents are still there. https://maps.app.goo.gl/7TS4NBZmqwKNqTpG6In the revies on Google maps, there are more.......Khum Chao Ratchabut, the residence of Chao Phromthada, the last ruler of Nan, who lived there during his time as Chao Ratchabut (equivalent to viceroy) before moving to the royal residence when he became the ruler (now the Nan Museum). It was later passed on to his descendants, Chao Fa Ratchabut Mokfa. This place is considered a national treasure, especially for the people of Nan, dating back to the time when Nan was the State of Nan before its incorporation into Siam and the subsequent changes in governance, including the abolition of the title of ruler. Currently, a direct descendant of Chao Ratchabut Mokfa owns the property and opens it to interested tourists free of charge (but donations for maintenance are welcome). The owner mentioned that she might not always be there due to personal business; you can try asking her. On my first visit, I met her, and on my second, the door was open, and a young person asked if she was home. She warmly shared the history of the house, showed us the family's heirlooms and photographs, and provided valuable information. *Highly recommended, especially for history enthusiasts. If you're visiting the museum, you should definitely check this place out as well.* The house is not abandoned; it's well-maintained by the descendants. This makes it difficult for people who aren't regular staff to come in and ask questions.
