Police have arrested three Colombian nationals accused of breaking into luxury homes and stealing nearly 4 million baht in valuables from properties belonging to an air force general and a parliamentary committee member. The suspects were detained following coordinated operations across Prachuap Khiri Khan and Chonburi, with officers also seizing designer bags, wallets, sunglasses, perfumes and watches believed to be stolen. The arrests followed reports of a burglary on 8 November 2025 in the Centro Sukhaphiban 5 housing estate in Sai Mai district, Bangkok.

Investigators from Kannayao Police Station and Metropolitan Police Division 2 identified the group after reviewing evidence and requested arrest warrants from the Min Buri Criminal Court, which approved three warrants dated 26 November 2025. The suspects were named as Mr Victor Alonso Bedoya Morales, 45; Mr Ferro Santa Wilson Armando, also known as Leon, 41; and Mr Miguel Alberto Cortes Sanchez, also known as Fernando, 42. All three face charges of nighttime residential theft committed by two or more persons, using force to overcome protective barriers, entering through an unauthorised opening, disguising themselves, and using a vehicle to aid escape or removal of stolen items.

Police said Bedoya Morales was arrested on 2 December in Hua Hin with several items including Coach and Prada handbags and a gold-coloured lighter. Leon was arrested the same day in Bang Lamung district, Chonburi, with Louis Vuitton, Coach and Gucci accessories, Fendi and Gucci sunglasses, and bottles of branded perfume. Fernando was also detained in Bang Lamung with a Gucci wallet and multiple identification documents bearing the name Julio Eduardo Garcia Jerez from Guatemala.

Officers additionally seized a white Honda City, registration ftom Bangkok, abandoned in a Chonburi car park and believed to have been used in the burglaries. A fake registration plate, from Bangkok, was later recovered from a roadside in Lam Luk Ka after being discarded by the suspects. Police linked the group to similar break-ins in areas under Chaiyaphruek Police Station in Nonthaburi and Bang Sao Thong Police Station in Samut Prakan.

According to investigators, the group targeted gated communities with automatic entry gates by tailing residents’ vehicles to slip inside without authorisation. They exited in the same way by following another car at speed. Police have urged housing estates and security guards to remain vigilant and to report suspicious vehicles immediately to emergency line 191.

Khoasod reported that the suspects and recovered items have been handed over to Kannayao Police Station for further legal proceedings. Officers say more victims in other provinces may be identified as the investigation expands.

Key Takeaways

• Three Colombian nationals were arrested over luxury home burglaries causing losses of about 3.8 million baht.

• Police seized large quantities of designer goods and an abandoned getaway car with a removed fake licence plate.

• Investigators say the group tailgated residents’ cars to enter gated communities and may be linked to other cases.

This is not the first time Colombian gangs have been busted here for similar operations.  I can recall at least two additional instances in the last ten years, always targeting housing estates.  Apparently there is a huge market for modern household goods in S. America where import duties are sometimes more than 300% on such items.  They have a container standing by and as soon as it's full, off it goes.

I don't really believe the container theory. They were stealing blenders & toaster items but luxury goods. TBH, I really don't care much if the unusually-rich get robbed after robbing the taxpayer through bribery.

It's a pitiable profession to be a thief these days. Homes have nothing much to steal. Big TVs are fragile & not very portable; thieves wouldn's know the value of high-end stereo equipment; gold & jewelry are well-hidden (if the owner is smart).

What this amounts to is a bag snatch.
