If you live with your parents and are married do you or the parents sponsor the applicant?

I would think you do with an invitation from the parents would suffice but my friend aint so sure about it he has plenty of funds but wants to buy a house with his Thai wife when she arrives in the UK.

At 36000 baht he does not want to risk a refusal which i can understand he is on the electoral role etc i think he will be ok its UK visa by the way.

I was in a similar situation, and I acted as the sponsor. You're right that you'll need a letter from the parents though, and this should give evidence that their house is suitable for everyone to stay in together and of ownership (with relevant documents to support what is stated in the letter). Explain the situation in full in the sponsor's (your friend's)letter. I can't imagine any problems.

toasted is correct. You are the sponser, but have a letter also from parents saying she is welcome to stay at family home. Get your parents to hold up a printed sign saying " Welcome Mrs ........" and take a photo of them. This is helpful along wiht thier letter.

Good Luck.
