Vietnam welcomed 19.15 million international visitors in the first 11 months of 2025, a 20.9% increase from the previous year, surpassing pre-pandemic figures of over 18 million. November alone saw 1.98 million arrivals, marking a 14.2% rise from October, and 15.6% from November 2024. The UN Tourism agency highlighted Vietnam's robust recovery as one of the most notable globally.

The country's overall tourism performance pinned it alongside destinations like Japan in leading growth in the Asia-Pacific region, which has only achieved about 90% of pre-Covid levels. The National Statistics Office reported Asia as the largest source, contributing 15.10 million tourists, a 19.7% rise. European arrivals grew 37.8% to 2.46 million, making it the fastest-growing region. The Americas, Oceania, and Africa also showed increases.

China remained Vietnam's top market with 4.8 million visitors, a significant portion representing a 43.1% increase. South Korea, Taiwan, the United States, and Japan completed the top five, with India, Cambodia, Russia, Malaysia, and Australia also featuring prominently in the top ten. Notably, Russian arrivals surged 191% in the January–November period.

Air travel dominated, accounting for 84.5% of arrivals or 16.2 million passengers. Land and sea travel also rose, reaching 2.7 million and 228,800 arrivals, respectively. This surge in tourism boosted the service sector's earnings, with travel services generating VNĐ85.4 trillion (about US$3.2 billion), a 19.9% increase. Key destinations such as Hà Nội, HCM City, and Quảng Ninh saw robust growth.

Accommodation and food-service revenues rose 14.6% to VNĐ767.8 trillion, supported by both returning long-haul visitors and strong domestic demand. Looking forward, Vietnam aims to attract 23–25 million international tourists in 2025, anticipating continued growth in the sector, reported Vietnam News.
