A collision involving two pickup trucks in Chiang Rai on the evening of 9 December resulted in three fatalities and five injuries. The crash occurred at 20:40 in Ban Rong Boe, Moo 11, Huai Sak Subdistrict, Muang District, prompting an emergency response from the Thammanan Rescue Association after a call from the Narenthorn Centre. Rescuers found six male victims at the scene, including one confirmed dead.

 

Background information from the rescue team stated that the injured included three red-coded critical cases and two yellow-coded serious cases, all of whom were transported to Chiang Rai Prachanukroh Hospital. One initial fatality was recorded at the crash site, while two additional victims were later pronounced dead at the hospital. Police officers, forensic doctors and Huai Sak outpost officers conducted an examination of the bodies as part of standard procedure.

 

Authorities confirmed cooperation between rescue volunteers, forensic staff, and police investigators in processing the scene and arranging the transfer of the deceased to the hospital’s forensic department. A rescue vehicle from the Sirikorn Chiang Rai Disaster Relief Association transported the victims to Chiang Rai Prachanukroh Hospital.

 

NBT reported that authorities are continuing the investigation into the incident, reviewing CCTV and will question the surviving victims, once they have recovered.
