A collision in Chon Buri early on December 15 left numerous individuals injured when a pickup truck crashed into the back of a songthaew. The accident took place around 7:30 am in the Mueang district, as officers from Mueang Chon Buri Police Station and rescue workers quickly arrived at the scene to assist. The songthaew sustained severe damage to its rear, while the pickup truck's front-left side was crushed.

Emergency teams provided first aid to the injured, then transported them to Chon Buri Hospital. Among the passengers were students heading to school; a witness described the songthaew shaking violently following a loud crash, leading to several injuries. Other passengers, including 65-year-old Nipa, spoke of being thrown from the vehicle, only regaining consciousness to learn about the crash.

The pickup driver, 50-year-old Sitthipon, confessed to falling asleep at the wheel after returning from the market. The songthaew driver, 61-year-old Thanachai, narrated that he was about to drop off passengers near Chonkanyanukoon School when the incident occurred, injuring approximately 14 people. The impact ejected some of the passengers from the vehicle.

Police have commenced a thorough investigation, with further questioning of the pickup driver underway. Legal proceedings are anticipated as authorities examine the circumstances leading to the crash, reported The Thaiger.
