Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has declared that Thailand will never give in as fighting escalates along the Thai-Cambodian border, pledging full government backing for the armed forces to defend national sovereignty. His remarks were made amid reports of clashes along the entire frontline, with Hill 350 identified by the military as a key strategic battleground. The statement was intended to reassure the public and reinforce morale during a period of heightened tension.

The comments followed a visit on Friday by a group of activists to the Bhumjaithai Party headquarters, where they presented flowers to the prime minister and offered moral support. The group urged Mr Anutin to carry out his duties with determination and to ensure that Thailand’s sovereignty is not infringed. They described their visit as a show of unity with the government and the armed forces.

The activists, calling themselves the People’s Network for the Protection of Territory and the Monarchy, travelled from Ayutthaya, Sing Buri, Lop Buri, Saraburi and Phetchaburi. They submitted an open letter expressing concern over the Thai-Cambodian border situation and encouraging the prime minister to remain resolute. The letter highlighted public anxiety over the ongoing hostilities and the importance of national unity.

In response, Mr Anutin thanked the group for their encouragement, saying it boosted the morale of the government and the armed forces. He said such public support strengthened the resolve of those tasked with defending the country’s sovereignty. “Therefore, we will never fall or give in,” he said.

Addressing measures to counter any Cambodian incursions, the prime minister said the government was working closely with the armed forces. He stressed that military leaders remained confident, adding: “No matter how many times I ask, the answer is always the same: we will never be defeated.” He said he avoided using the word “victory” because Thailand had no intention of acting as an aggressor.

The Thai military has reported that Cambodian forces are engaged in fighting along the entire frontline. Hill 350 has been identified as strategically significant, while clashes around Ta Kwai temple remain intense and unresolved as both sides seek control of the area. The situation continues to be closely monitored by the government and security agencies.

Looking ahead, the government is expected to maintain close coordination with military commanders as border tensions persist. Officials have indicated that defending sovereignty remains the priority while monitoring developments on the ground. Further updates are anticipated as the situation evolves.
