Four Myanmar nationals were detained at a hotel close to Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, and ten drones were confiscated following reports of drones flying in the area over two consecutive nights, December 21-22. The suspects were identified as Mr. Zwe Htet Aung, Mr. Sa Nay Lin Htet, Mr. Kyaw Zin Hein, and Mr. Thein Zaw. Police conducted a raid on the hotel room in Lat Krabang district after receiving a tip-off.

The individuals had checked into the hotel on Sunday night with a reservation made by a person named Mr. David. During interrogation, the suspects admitted that Mr. Kevin Cho, their leader from Myanmar, directed them to collect drones in Thailand for transport back to Myanmar. The drones were intended to be dismantled, packed, and carried by the suspects to deliver to Kevin Cho for resale.

The Commander of Immigration Division 1 has revoked the visas of the four suspects, and they remain in custody for further questioning. The drones have been handed over to Lat Krabang police station for investigation. Authorities are also awaiting the return of Mr. Ratchapol Porncheewachote, a Thai national currently in Oman, who had ties with Kevin Cho and facilitated the drone purchase in Thailand at a lower price.

Mr. Ratchapol had acquired drones from a Nonthaburi company multiple times, buying 10 DJI FLYCart 30 drones valued at 500,000 baht each. Unable to collect them personally, he arranged for delivery to the hotel where the arrests took place. This situation raises security concerns, and authorities are working to uncover the full extent of the operation and any additional parties involved.

Looking Forward, police investigations continue as they assess Mr. Ratchapol's involvement and connections with the Myanmar suspects. Further developments are expected as authorities aim to track the distribution network and prevent similar incidents, reported Thai Newsroom.
