To illustrate the wide spread Trump envy.

You think the situation has remained static since 2016? Why don't you get back to us when you come up with something a little more current?

Well, Trump is back in power.

Why don't you get back to me when some lefty has beaten Trump?

Well yes. McDonalds sell plastic burgers and got rich.

And how does what I wrote contradict that? Because I included companies based in America? They pay directly. Consumers pay indirectly.

Actually, he doesn't tend to explode when he's called out. Rather, he evaporates.

While you just report people.

The country’s exports to the U.S. have surged since President Trump imposed new duties on countries this year...

Producers seeking a foothold in the U.S. have said that Mexico still has all the inherent advantages it had before tariffs—proximity to the U.S., a low-cost manufacturing industry and a frayed but intact free-trade agreement.
Even with steep tariffs on autos, steel and aluminum bound for America, Mexican manufacturing exports to the U.S. rose almost 9% from January to November, compared with the first 11 months of 2024, according to Mexican government data.

All those new manufacturing jobs. So close and yet so far.

We need to build a wall.

Anyone?

So Americans don't mind tariffs and effortlessly keep buying from Mexico, even 9 % more.

Yes the US needs another wall , a bigger tariff wall.

Exactly right. Trump has been too lenient on Mexico, clearly.

This would never happen to Geert.

Geert ?  Wilders ? He is on his way out , sadly.

And he will be sorely missed, I'm sure.

What's the point?  So what if some trade has increased? Most of the goods exported to the USA  from Mexico are not subject to the additional tariffs. There is a trade agreement called the USMCA. Things will probably change  once the agreement is  renegotiated in 2026.  Mexico is filling the gap created by the Chinese withdrawal. Instead of Chinese built computers, its Mexican built computers.

Trump repeatedly claim that tariffs would result increased American jobs. That was the point of them. What don't you understand about that?

Send an email to the Whitehouse and complain.

New jobs cannot and will not appear over night.

Until the USMCA is changed, I doubt that anything significant will occur in respect to Mexico.

However, the changes with Canada are evident. Automobile manufacturing has been shifted from Canada to the USA.This has allowed more shifts to be added at US plants. Lumber, Steel and aluminum  is being sourced in the USA, protecting the employment of  US workers in those sectors.

No. Though it may appear that way within your little Kool-Aid bubble, the reality is that he's despised throughout the world, he's a horrific leader, and he's dramatically diminished American influence worldwide, in addition to taking a wrecking ball to the US dollar.

Neither are you. You claimed Trump's manufacturing jobs decline then jump quickly hailing " Joe Biden’s robust record on the overall front". Biden’s government added millions of state and public sector jobs.

Is it only you who is allowed to go off topic and talk about (parasite) jobs??

Mark Carney outsmarted Trump to a huge extent and Canada has won the trade

war so far. They have established new trade deals with China and the EU, the US no longer has access to the highest quality Lumber on Earth the US no longer has access to very high quality steel and aluminum from Canada, nor oil and gas that was very easy to access due to the proximity. In addition Carney has negotiated rare earth deals with China and the EU, and the US no longer has access to those materials either.

The extent to which Trump has been out foxed is actually quite extraordinary, and it's just another example of the devastating losses that America is facing under the circus, and the fact that manufacturing is not returning to America.

Trump is alot in the land of broken dreams and ill willed promises.

There were 175,000 more manufacturing jobs at the end of the Biden administration than there were just before the onset of the Covid pandemic

How did Carney outsmart the USA? The Canadian auto and steel sector is on life support. Its aluminum and lumber sectors are receiving  $billions in bail out aid, using borrowed funds. The Canadian deficit is now close to being unserviceable.

What new trade deals with China? China has agreed to nothing. Canada had an over dependence on China and as soon as China imposed restrictions on agricultural imports, the China dependent sectors tanked. China would dump its products in Canada if it could.

What new trade deals with the EU? Lots of talk, but nothing happened. CETA dates back to 2017 and still isn't ratified. The military procurement agreement means nothing if Canada is still dependent on the USa for critical weapon systems. Germany has just abandoned the EU for a massive USA armaments purchase. There is no free trade agreement with. the UK.

The USA most certainly does have access to whatever steel and aluminum it needs from Canada. Canada has lifted its retaliatory tariffs because it was hurting canadian companies. The sad reality is that Canadians were not purchasing Canadian steel specialty products. they still are not. That's what happens when critical industries are owned by foreign interests.

What critical earths deal did canada negotiate with China? When? Where? canada is participating in the G7 Critical Minerals Alliance. The USA and EU are participating. China's restrictions are on all western countries.

Canada is still selling its oil at below market prices to the USA and buying the refined product back at  market price. If it wasn't for the US dispute with Meduro, the Caracas oil  which is.  similar to the heavy Canadian oil would be flowing into the USA at a much lower price and  destroying the Canadian export market.

Yes, Canadian lumber is more expensive in the USA. US  consumers are paying for it, but its the lumber mills in Canada which have shed the 10,000 jobs, not the USA.

Wow. Just wow. A whole lot of disinformation packed into just a couple of paragraphs.

Mexico is also the unexpected winner of the H1B catastrophe. It used to be that Americans wanted to kick out Mexican illegals. Now that they've got a taste of H1B Indians, the Mexicans look pretty good in comparison.

Is this your way of deflecting attention from the fact that Trump's tariffs aren't bringing manufacturing employment back to America? Because the point you're raising sure doesn't seem to have anything to do with the issue at hand.
