90 Day Report due on the day I'm due to leave Thailand.

Featured Replies

I got back from a trip to the UK on the 28th October & am due to fly out to the Maldives on 26th January which is exactly 90 days after I last entered Thailand, should I file a 90 day report before I leave?

I've no plan on doing so but was just curious whether I (Technically) should.

Not sure if you want to reside in Thailand after the Maldives. If you're planning on staying in LOS, I would file before I leave. There's a hefty 2,000 baht fine for filing late.

You have two options for filing: in-person or online at the Immigration website.

Have a great trip and Happy New Year.

Actually the way that works is the day you stamp in (in your case Oct 28th) is counted as day ONE, so your 90 day report is due 89 days after that or on Jan 25th and that technically makes you obligated to file a 90 day report

The rule is simple, if you're in thailand for 90 continuous days on a visa/extension that does 90 day reporting, you report..

Now in reality, if you don't do it, nothing is going to happen to you when you stamp out (because the officers at passport control don't care if you ever filed a 90 day report or not as it's not their job)
AND
It's highly unlikely that once you return and go to file your next 90 day report (89 days after you stamp back in) that the immigration office will notice you left the day after your previous 90 day report was due..

I'd say you're fine, just leave, and worst case IF on the extremely rare chance they notice it when you go to do your next 90 day report you'll pull a 2000baht failure to file on time fine which won't be the end of the world

online at the Immigration website

they can't file online because the rule is the first report after you come back into the country (which is the report they have coming due) has to be done in person.

If they did apply online, they'd get this rejection notice in their email

Thank you for the info. I stand corrected. In-person it is then.

I normally use Online but pay an agent 100 THB to file it for me when it’s the 1st one after returning to Thailand.

As @Tod Danielshas pointed out that I’ll actually be on my 91st day when I exit & even though I know the risks are negligible, I do follow all of the immigration rules so will File.

no harm in following the rules as they're written, you will never run yourself off the rails that way
Best of luck with it, safe travels 👍

As far as I know, there is a 7-day grace period after the actual 90-day deadline.

I left May 6th for California and my daughters wedding. It was my 90 day due date that I had been doing online.  I also had a new passport with all the particulars transferred and a reentry permit. 89 days after arriving back I went in person to Changwattana to report. With an appointment and the new offices upstairs it was very easy. Great IO agent who made a point of telling me she had now updated my address from the old passport number to the new. She remarked you have been at the same address since 90 day reporting started.  About 75 days later once the online window opened I did it and received confirmation in less than 24 hours.

If he departs on same day as due date what problem?

The OP is actually departing one day past due date as per correction in thread.

In any event the OP posted that he has decided to file report.

All good.

You left off a 0, right?  Else I'd be very interested to know what agent is doing 90-day reports for 100 baht!

Agents charge various fees for filing a 90-day report on your behalf, ranging from zero to 500 Baht.

Maneerat (Pattaya Soi Post Office / Soi 13-2) if you do your extension via them, 200 THB if you don't.
