Thailand's Board of Investment (BOI) has approved incentives for VR One World (Thailand) to organize the renowned Tomorrowland music festival in Chonburi in December 2026. The event is expected to generate an economic impact of 21 billion baht over five years. This marks the festival's first foray into Asia, with a daily capacity to host 50,000 attendees, largely international visitors.

Tomorrowland Thailand is a collaboration between TL International from Belgium, affiliated with the Tomorrowland Group, and Thailand's One Asia Ventures. This partnership is set to boost Thailand's global tourism profile, aiming to attract a substantial international audience. The initiative will include the "Tomorrowland Academy" to enhance the skills of Thai professionals in music and event management.

Narit Therdsteerasukdi, BOI's Secretary-General, highlighted BOI's efforts since 2024 to transform Thailand into a hub for world-class events. The BOI has facilitated international event hosting by smoothing visa processes and reducing tax burdens for foreign participants. These efforts aim to attract more tourists, elevate Thailand’s tourism industry, and provide learning opportunities for local businesses.

Looking ahead, Thailand will aim to provide an unforgettable experience for Tomorrowland attendees. By hosting the festival, the country hopes to cement its reputation as a preferred destination for major international events. Organizers are optimistic that the festival will be a significant draw for global visitors, subsequently benefiting various sectors, including hospitality and local businesses, reported The Nation.

Key Takeaways

  • Tomorrowland Thailand projects 21 billion baht in economic impact.
  • The event positions Thailand as Asia’s first host of this global festival.
  • BOI initiatives facilitate large-scale event hosting in Thailand.

what a irreal idea.. People don't spend a lot of money to travel to Thailand to come to a dance event.. Only the residents and tourists who are here already will come and probably with the double pricing tourists will pay much more and so they will stay away..

Im am not sure but I know in Europe a 1 day tickets cost 143  euro=5300 THB.....I am not sure that the youth of Thailand will pay this and where they get this money from.... I am realistic and Thailand is quite different than the EU, as a lot of youth have jobs and are working as here in Thailand nobody is willing to earn a bit.... and weekend passes are even more expensive. And do you really think that with prices many foreigners will fly in for a party that they can enjoy near their home?

There are lots of rich people in Thailand, lets not forget others from all over Asia wanting to come too.

I know people who intend to come and combine this with a holiday.

I think the promoters know what they are doing.

I hope you are right, but thinking is not the best quality in Thailand.... lastest SEA games proved it

Thailand's drug screening approach and international music festivals will not mix well.

Not true.

Ever watched a Thai v Malaysia / Vietnam / Indonesia etc football match.  Many away supporters in the crowd.

They get cheap budget airline flights and cheap accommodation for the night.

If it's well promoted, they will come.

Seems you are clueless. People do exactly that, they travel specially for events. A recent big one was at the pyramids in Egypt. Then tomorrow land is one of the best events in the world, you can be sure it is sold out. If you want to make easy money buy some tickets when they are available + resell them weeks before.

I am not sure if you realize how much the costs are to organize such an event..and they need hundreds of thousand visitors to make any profit.. security, stages, dj's, insurances, safety measures, etc... Do you really believe that 400 to 500 thousand people will come to Thailand to visit this event? Thailand is something different than the Eu/ Egypt/ and the US... But I hope you are right

I’d have to agree with the post above yours, it will be sold out and ticket prices for resale will be huge.

Thais will make up 90% of ticket buyers and visitors alone, maybe it's time to pop that bubble you live in and call reality... People would easily pay 2-3X for last minute tickets as they will long before be sold out. If you have little to do and want a side earner, this is one. Or to just pre-book airbnbs in the area and then re-sell those (but high chance the landlord realizes that and cancels you).

Prices: Early estimates suggest around $220+ for 1-day, $380+ for 2-day, and $525+ for 3-day passes (USD).

You are right...i know many young people with parents who are willing to pay 8k or more for a dayticket excl stay food and drinks...and travelcosts. If Thai people can afford that, why is the Government constantly asked for help? Or are these events only for the rich an elites?
