A woman was detained at Koh Loi Pier in Sri Racha, Chon Buri, on January 3, following complaints of offering overpriced and misleading tourism services to Koh Si Chang island visitors. This operation, led by Chon Buri Governor Narit Niramaiwong and Sri Racha District Chief Weekit Manarojkit, aimed to address tourist concerns about fraudulent activities. A task force comprising local security, police officers, and volunteers was mobilized to inspect the area as part of the crackdown.

The operation was initiated after reports emerged about individuals at the pier promoting misleading motorcycle rentals, accommodation, and speedboat services. Some allegedly claimed government connections to gain tourists' trust. A 44-year-old woman, known as Big, was identified and detained after she matched the described profile in these complaints. She was found distributing unauthorized flyers and business cards, violating the Act on Maintaining Cleanliness and Orderliness of the Kingdom.

Authorities conducted a urine test on the woman, which returned positive for illegal drugs. Consequently, she was handed over to Sri Racha Police for further legal action. In addition, ferry and speedboat operators underwent random drug tests, all of which were negative. Officials assert that this crackdown is part of a broader effort to ensure tourist safety and maintain Chon Buri's reputation as a reliable destination.

The next steps involve continued surveillance and regulation enforcement at local piers to prevent similar incidents. Officials emphasize their commitment to maintaining safe maritime transport services and protecting the area's tourism image. This also involves collaboration with local businesses to foster trust and transparency for visitors, reported The Thaiger.

I suspect the victims in this case are mostly Thais.....selling ferry tickets that should be 30 baht for 100 baht to foreign tourists has long been an approved Thai only position.

Sorry, messed that up so badly. 😮

Corrected version - never trust a woman whose belly is bigger than her tits.

I still don't understand what she did wrong? Re-selling ferry tickets at higher prices? And what exactly is handing out unauthorized flyers and business cards?
