A 43-year-old container truck driver named Aphinan was discovered dead in a worker dormitory in Samut Prakan on January 6. Police from the Bang Phli Police Station, along with rescue workers, arrived at the scene in the Bang Chalong subdistrict to investigate the incident. Outside the room, his pet dog, Jao Pao, was found lying near the door, showing unwavering loyalty to its owner.

Aphinan's body was found on a mattress with no visible injuries or signs of a struggle, leading police to believe he had been dead for at least eight hours. According to his co-workers, he had no known health or drug issues and was socializing with friends the previous night without showing any signs of distress. A co-worker reportedly heard him respond in the morning, but he never left the room, prompting them to check and find him unresponsive.

Authorities documented the scene and transferred Aphinan's body to the Chakri Naruebodindra Medical Institute for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. Relatives have been informed to make arrangements for religious funeral rites. The incident follows a similar case in December, where a 78-year-old driver was found dead in his truck at a petrol station in the same province, after spending decades driving the same vehicle, reported The Thaiger.
