A Myanmar national was stabbed and seriously injured inside a sixth-floor apartment room in Samut Prakan, before forcing himself downstairs to seek help. The attack occurred on the evening of 7 January 2026 and prompted an urgent response from police and rescue services after the victim was found bleeding heavily at the building entrance.

Police from Bang Phli Police Station were alerted to a report of a person suffering severe knife wounds at an apartment building in Soi Bang Pla 75, Bang Pla sub-district, Bang Phli district. Officers coordinated with the Ruamkatanyu Foundation to provide immediate assistance at the scene. The injured man was stabilised before being transferred to hospital for further treatment.

The victim, identified only as Mr A, is a 24-year-old Myanmar national residing on the sixth floor of the apartment. He was found sitting near the stairway at the front of the building with a serious stab wound to the left side of his ribcage. Medical staff initially assessed that the wound may have penetrated his lung, indicating potentially life-threatening injuries.

According to the apartment caretaker, Mr A lived in a room on the sixth floor and came downstairs unaided despite his injuries. The caretaker was in the office on the ground floor when the victim arrived seeking help and saying he had been “stabbed”. Noticing a large amount of blood, the caretaker immediately contacted emergency services.

Initial inquiries indicate that the suspected attacker is also a Myanmar national and lived in a neighbouring room. Police believe the suspect entered Mr A’s room and stabbed him with a sharp object, although the exact type of weapon has not yet been confirmed. The motive for the attack remains unclear at this stage.

After the stabbing, the suspect fled the apartment room and left the building before authorities arrived. Officers have not yet apprehended the suspect and are continuing efforts to locate him. No further injuries were reported in connection with the incident.

Koaded reorted that Mr A was transported to Chularat 3 Inter Hospital, where he is receiving treatment under his entitled healthcare rights. Police said they will wait until his condition stabilises before conducting a formal interview. Investigators plan to gather witness statements and physical evidence before seeking an arrest warrant to proceed with legal action against the suspect.
