True Blocking MEGA.nz

Featured Replies

I cannot access MEGA without a VPN, I've been told that I should change the DNS settings but they wont let me do that either.

Who won't let you do that? How do they stop you?

Many ISPs provide pre-configured routers or modem-router combos. They may:

  • Lock down the router’s admin interface, preventing you from changing DNS settings.

  • Use custom firmware that doesn’t allow DNS changes without special access codes.

  • Push DNS settings automatically via DHCP or their own configuration protocols (like TR-069), which override manual changes.

Not really sure of the point of your posting. I have just tried to access mega.nz log in on my True fibre and not had a problem......

Get your own router, ask True to put their router in Bridge mode or go BYOD or whatever they call it and change to just a modem from them and your own router. Install OpenWrt on it and DNS where you want.........

Now what are you complaining about......🤔

I believe Windoze (for sure MacOS does) allows you to specify the DNS provider which is queried BEFORE the IP messages leave your computer. DNS isn't magic... it is just a translation of text to numeric IP address.

Same for Linux.
