A Thai man named Apichat was apprehended in Udon Thani on January 29 following a tip from locals who observed him using methamphetamine in public. The incident occurred directly across from a senior police commander's residence. Police were conducting routine patrols when they rushed to the scene where Apichat was found with visible drug use signs.

Officers discovered four methamphetamine pills in Apichat's trousers after a search. He reportedly acted incoherently, appearing under the drug's influence. Apichat confessed to buying 10 pills the previous day for 40 baht each, using his earnings from recycling activities to fund his drug habit.

Locals reported seeing Apichat acting erratically and talking to himself, which led them to contact authorities. The man's behavior alarmed residents, leading to his arrest.
