South Park writer buys ‘Trump Kennedy Center’ domain name

Toby Morton now owns trumpkennedycenter.org, which advertises new year performance by the ‘Epstein dancers’

Edward Helmore

The Guardian: 1 Jan 2026

Donald Trump may be remaking the John F Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts into a pool of his self-reflection, but a writer for South Park, the TV series that better reflects the obsessions and tendencies of the administration than any political pundit, has purchased the rights to trumpkennedycenter.org.

Toby Morton, a TV writer and producer who has worked on the long-running and joyfully offensive sitcom, said he purchased the domain in August after predicting the president would change the name from the Kennedy Center to the Trump Kennedy Center after he installed himselfas chair and stocked the board with loyalists.

Perhaps you missed it, but Trump announced he's closing down the center for 2 years for renovation Trump-style, so you know the finished product will exude garishness and bad taste.

I'm sure the 2 year closure has nothing to do with the fact nobody with any talent wants to perform there now.

I just hope Mr. Morton doesn't make jokes about "bad ratings". That might be plagiarism, as comments by Grammy host Trevor Noah elicited a stream of "bad ratings for the Grammys" comments from the White House. Oh, and Noah was described by White House officials in characteristic Trumpian verbiage as a "talentless loser".

Many things about Trump are predictable, as Morton proved last year by registering the domain name before the fact.
