Trump Admin Fails to Get Indictment for Democrats Over Illegal-Orders

"The Trump administration was handed a new legal loss on Tuesday as it failed to secure an indictment in connection with Democratic lawmakers who urged members of the military and intelligence community not to comply with unlawful orders, NBC News reports.

The collapsed indictment bid came as several of the lawmakers declined voluntary interviews with federal investigators—and as the Pentagon escalated, then imposed administrative action against U.S. Senator Mark Kelly—highlighting an extraordinary confrontation over free speech, congressional protections and civilian-military norms during President Donald Trump’s second term."

Well, to be fair to those who argue that this wasn't a political prosecution, at least the Trump administration did consult with the Justice Dept's Public Integrity Section before going ahead with the attempt to indict....just kidding. The Trump administration actually abolished the Public Integrity Section.

"NBC News also reports that Pirro’s office pursued the indictment with political appointees rather than career prosecutors and noted the Trump administration's dismantling of the Justice Department’s Public Integrity Section, a traditional check on probes of members of Congress."

Anyway, this latest failure must be delighting all criminally inclined ham sandwiches. As well as leaving the DOJ with egg all over its face. Hmmm...ham and eggs!

Sen Elissa Slotkin is smart and tough. She served in Baghdad with the agency. She could spot Trump 60 IQ points if they sat together to take the test. Could be the VP candidate on the 2028 Dem ticket, and if she continues to shine in the next 2 years, the Number 1 on the Dem ticket. She's very center left, kind of a female Bill Clinton.

I think Pirro should do a Bongino and go back to being an angry drunk Talking Head on Fox. That's about what her peak potential is. We're seeing across the board...from Hegseth to Pirro---that time as a Fox "personality" is a definite negative for adult work.

If saying "don't do anything illegal" were to become illegal, where would this lead? Police being prosecuted for discouraging school shootings?

Another epic fail for Pirro, the DOJ and for Trump. It's a thing of stunning beauty!thumbsup

AI Gemini quickie:

As Attorney General, Pam Bondi has affirmed that U.S. military officers are legally required to disobey unlawful orders. In a 2024 Supreme Court brief, she argued that the military would not, and should not, carry out patently unlawful commands, such as those from a president targeting non-military personnel.

The guy who Tweeted:

“SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!” lost again.

Somewhat ironically, that is the same guy---President Donald J Trump---who called his goobers to DC for 6 January 2021, rallied them with his usual hate speech on the National Mall, told them to march to the US Capitol where a simple pro forma certification of "the fairest election is history" (according to Trump's own cyber tsar charged with monitoring the election) was to take place, and then watched for 187 minutes while his goobers beat 140 cops, smashed doors and windows, defecated on the floor of the Capitol and hunted for the Vice President in order to hang him (as they chanted, and which could easily be heard on live international TV coverage, including that watched for 187 minutes by Trump).

Trump was the sole authority who could have called out the National Guard to address the heinous attack (contrary to his bald face lie that the Speaker could do that), but for 187 minutes he sat and watched.

When he finally spoke, it was to tell the terrorists, "We love you all very much".

So reminding serving military personnel of their duty to ignore illegal orders is  “SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!” in Trump world, but fomented a terrorist attack aimed at destroying democracy gets the pawns "love" and the ringleader avoiding any prosecution.

Maybe, with this latest loss for Trump et al, the universe is righting itself again.
