Junk emails

Featured Replies

I use Outlook in Windows 11 Pro. I get many many junk gambling orientated emails. Started a couple of weeks back and today 22 Junks. I usually Report them as Phishing, but have now set up some rules so that any emails with words pertaining to Gambling etc should be deleted.

Does anyone know how long it takes Microsoft to implement these Rules please?

In the version of Outlook I use (Office 2019) the rules are activated immediately.

(not an outlook user)

Keep reporting as spam would be my advice.

Then going through the spam folder.

I would never terminally delete mails based on some rule.

What DO you use for emails please. Tried Thunderbird and Evolution on Linux but do not like.

Why not please?

Been with Outlook for years and the only solution I have found is to just delete them en mass....checking first for any important ones of course.

Use Gmail.

Easy to install on Linux, if that is what you intend.

I once used Thunderbird.

But, what is the advantage, these days?

Stick with this, and save yourself a few unnecessary headaches.

Having switched back to Gmail client, Junk and Spam are completely UNNOWN to me.

Would I steer you wrong?

No, I would not.

All the spam/junk senders also appear on my GMAil accounts.

Why would you try to get rid of something that serves you well?

Is there any advantage to doing this?

Or, are you just acting on principle?

You need to become a believer.

Google Products are the best available, these days, although not perfect.

Save yourself avoidable headaches by not over-complicating your life.

Also, while I realize that many new Linux users are trying Zorin.

My first choice remains Leap 16.

I am very pleased with this distro.

YAST is not gone from OPENSUSE Linux...but....I now say: Good Riddance to Old Rubbish...!!!!

Leap 16 has new and more modern tools.

I remain....SUPER PLEASED with this distro... in case I have never mentioned this before...here or elsewhere....

All junk mail goes, of course, to a separate Junk Directory.

I do not look at this directory.

I do not go looking for trouble, and trouble never finds me.

Why should you worry about what you do not want to see.

Just let sleeping dogs lie, in your Junk Directory.

When Junk gets to be about 10GBytes, or so..then...might be a good time to clean it out.

Until then, do not obsess about it.

Typical POOR moderation by these platforms.

Bloody Billionaires, raking in the money for very little performance

I thought it would be better to start with one of the two most popular distros, Mint or Zorin, and I like Z's.

Proton mail is supposed to be good. I still use Yahoo although it's been a mess at times for many. Any Spam I just delete after checking, as some emails get sent there. Also have Gmail but don't use it much at all. I don't use Yahoo email for anything sensitive.

Tried Proton, first impression is OK? Will try a bit more.
