The truth is painful right ? I see many ukrainophiles here who doesn't even have a clue what is really going on about this "war". Some of you just lacking knowledge. Some are just paid cogs in a machine of this massive psy op and rusophobic propaganda run all over media. However all of you constantly spitting on Russia and Russians only because your opinions is quietly shaped by media over the decades. Like the drips of water shaping a rock. Most of you never even been there and never met Russian. At the same time you praising Banderstate. "Country" built and run by crooks, liars and greedy scoundrels since sovereignity was given to that damned piece of land by USSR. Country built on the genocide, blood, treason, aggressivness and historical lies and misinformation. Country without ANY good contribution to the (desirable by normal human being) peaceful world. Country where nazi ideology is still alive and you can still see the names of genocide architects on the street names and museums. How would it be like if Germans didn't ban swastika until now ? What if they still build Himmler's monuments, still having Hitlerstrasse's or Mengele museums in the middle of Berlin and tormenting minorities, huh ? Ukraine had 35 years to clean up the mess in there. But now, they still decided poking the sleeping bear with a toothpick. I've been to Ukraine many times, in 90s I run business in there. I feel sorry for normal Ukrainian people who doesn't want this war. But the whole corrupted, rotten system and nazism should be eradicated like a parasite, altogether with parasitic politicians feeding on the average citizens.

Sigmund is totally right. I see a lot of very expensive ukrainian cars in the polish airports and parking lots. Number od millionaires in Banderland raised 60% since the beginning of this conflict. Rich Ukraks happily travelling to Dubai with families to buy another Gucci bag and Rolex while poor Mykola is sitting in muddy trenches with rats. This "war" is only for the poor, brainwashed and intellectually weaker. Rich already fled the country or deriving benefits from this conflict.

Ukrainian forces also began limited counterattacks in early February 2026 that liberated multiple settlements in the Oleksandrivka and Hulyaipole directions in Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia oblasts.[3] ISW has observed evidence to assess that Ukrainian forces have liberated roughly 200 square kilometers in some areas of the Novopavlivka, Oleksandrivka, and Hulyaipole directions, losing 35 square kilometers in other areas of those three directions during the same time frame for a net gain of 165 square kilometers in February.[4] Ukrainian forces continue limited counterattacks in these areas.

This is what I was talking about. When it comes to the entire front line this is represents only small gains which appear to have been due to Ukrainian troops taking advantage of the Starlink shutdown. This is the area where Ukrainian gains retaking ground is occurring. Light blue represents recent Ukrainian gains, yellow recent Russian gains, green disputed (1st map), blue Ukraine territory and red Russian held territory. The first map is zoomed in the second zoomed out. This is from an independent mapper who has been very accurate. There is no point attaching the Ukrainian MOD map because I have previously pointed out the territory retaken by Ukrainian troops was never shown as taken by Russian troops.

If you were located, or lived in Europe, you would have said Russia.

In our opinion neither China, nor Iran is anywhere near the threat coming from Russia.

Unless Donald Trump is pushing into a war either way (even on Greenland). Then I would say the US is the most dangerous country against world peace at the moment.

Neither China nor Iran are pushing for imperialistic gains. Russia is definitely doing that (and the US at Greenland), and it's impossible to know what Russia's endgame is.

The comment was the most dangerous country in the world NOT in Europe.

What do you think I'm discussing...

If you actually read my comment, I talked about the world, not Europe only, comparing the three countries.

It's typically Americans who think the real threat to world peace comes from China and Iran. If you were European, you would think Russia. That's my point.

As I said, China and Iran are not looking to expand their territory, or having imperialistic gains.

Russia definitely is, Putin's wet dream is to re-establish the old Soviet Union, and who knows more.

Assuming the Europeans here are having no clue about this war, come on.. What do you know about us? Nothing.

Fyi, I was born in Russia. Luckily I got out early, and have spent my life in a western country (NATO) bordering to Russia. I know perfectly well about this war, I have a lot of Ukrainian friends, and I know perfectly well about the constant threat from Russia.

Stop lecturing others you don't know.

My first post was referring to your comment, "As far as I can tell the Russians continue to advance on several fronts. Not according to the BBC it would seem."

Your claim was contradicted by ISW, probably the most reliable source out there. BBC was right.

Whether we talk about small gains, doesn't change that. Russia themselves has only gained very small parts of Ukraine the last few years, going from 18% of Ukraine, to today's 19.5%.

This war has been pretty much a standstill, seen in a larger picture.

But the momentum seems to have shifted now, which I commented, backed up by a reliable source (which you were asking for).

And Russian war bloggers are saying the same (yes, I can read Russian).

So this is just a "war" huh?

Talk about being brainwashed. Your whole post is a spitting copy from the constant liars and war criminals at Kremlin.

I'm sure you know perfectly well that there are a lot more nazis and a lot more corruption in Russia. Just search for the corruption index, and you'll see that.

At least Ukraine is doing something about their corruption, which of course is originating from the Russian culture.

Ukraine is doing their part to adjusting to EU standards, they are getting closer each day. Will it take time? Of course. It's not done overnight.

Russia on the other hand.. They show no will or changes in their behaviour or politics, quite the opposite. Russia is the most corrupted country in Europe. And here we have people like you to spread their propaganda. Yaay.

Congrats, your post is the most Russian propaganda bs I have read on this forum. And on top of that, you think you are the one with the real answers here. It's laughable. Mind boggling.

Your confirming my point. As I said, still under 20% of Ukraine. From 18% a couple of years back. They had more, around 26% before Ukraine hit back in 2023.

It has been incredibly slow moving forward for Russia. And they have lost hundreds of thousands soldiers in the process.

And now it seems to have come to a halt, and even going Ukraine's way at certain areas.

Was it worth it, Putin? Certainly not. It will take decades to recover from the huge loss of this generation of men and workers. In addition they have lost tens of thousands of highly educated men an woman, fleeing to the west. And economically (and military-wise) Russia is in a very bad shape now.

What have you gained? You have become the European population's most hated country. You have isolated yourself, excluded from most sports and other activities.

But I understand some people on here, are still cheering for Russia.

It's freaking incredible.

The war moved from a war of maneuver to a war of attrition. Russia is still gaining territory, although slowly, which means Ukraine is losing territory, although slowly. This year will see further Russian gains with the cities of Kramatorsk, Slovyansk and Sumy possibly falling and the battle for Zaporizhzhia likely to commence. Ukraine's main weakness still lies with it's manpower. Simply not enough to plug all the holes.

Putin’s own ‘goddaughter’ breaks ranks with dramatic plea to end war

Russian TV host Ksenia Sobchak, widely described in local media as Vladimir Putin’s “goddaughter,” has publicly called for an end to the Ukraine war, marking a rare peace appeal from a high-profile figure with close Kremlin ties.

On the fourth anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Sobchak posted a message highlighting the human cost of the conflict. “For four years, my country has been living in war,” she wrote, warning that the suffering extends far beyond Moscow and St Petersburg.

Sobchak said both Russians and Ukrainians are dying — “sometimes quickly, sometimes in pain and agonisingly slowly.” She also pointed to cities on both sides left “freezing without heat and light,” concluding: “All of this must end.”

A former presidential candidate and prominent television presenter, Sobchak is the daughter of Anatoly Sobchak, the late mayor of St Petersburg who mentored Putin early in his political career. Her comments are significant given her long-standing public association with the Russian president.

In her statement, Sobchak described what she called the hidden grief across Russia. She said the war’s impact is woven into “countless thousands, and thousands, and thousands of human destinies.” If every grieving mother, widow or family member were marked on a map, she wrote, “the whole country will be burning with red dots of grief and pain.”

She warned that the longer the war continues, the further away a “truly peaceful and calm life for millions of people will be,” adding: “Today, I wish us all that this day will come sooner.”

Her appeal follows new casualty figures published by independent Russian outlet Mediazona. The investigative project says it has verified more than 200,000 Russian military deaths since the invasion began. According to Mediazona, the list includes over 6,800 officers and 13 generals.

The Ukraine war, now in its fifth year, continues to reshape Russian society and politics, with mounting losses and growing public scrutiny over its long-term consequences.

Because they don't have a choice. Russia needs this war to end as soon as possible. They have lost momentum, and is moving fast towards an economical disaster, and they are losing too many men without gaining anything lately.

Momentarily and pretty much only in one region which I have shown above. As for "No, they will not." this is what the front around Kramatorsk and Slovyansk looks like. Seriously, Ukraine would be an amazing asset for NATO, with their very advanced drone technology, and their experience in warfare.

But of course, the "stand up" countries like Hungary, Slovakia and USA, are blocking every attempt of making NATO stronger.

Ukraine is certainly making their own long (and short) range drones. That's the future of warfare, and Ukraine is now the leading and most advanced country in Europe doing so.

They will be a very important and valuable ally with NATO in the future, with all their experience, even when the traitors Trump, Orban and Fico are blocking their membership.

I have faith that NATO gets this right in '29, when all these traitors are no longer in power.

Analyzing war maps isn't just about analyzing the current situation but predicting future movements. This is what they are for and have been used this way for centuries.
