Or click on "Maps" in your post #55.

Thanks for all your help.

I eventually got there after changing computers and then 3 hours downloading the map onto my Go510.

I just hope it works when I get back to Thailand :)

Thanks again.

What, your TomTom can't simulate driving in another country?

I dont want the iphone app anymore.

I think its best to just get the nav on its own.

So where to get one in Bangkok? I have not been able to find one...

If you mean TomTom, apparently there are no dealers in Thailand.

For a Garmin go to Gadgetrend: use this GPS Link.

I have TT750, in Bangkok when I'm under the BTS or elevated highways it is out, because no external antenna- and the map is about 5 years if I compare the satellite photos with reality... only use the highways!

Awesome, the finally list Thai maps for my TomTom that I purchased over 12 months ago.

I use a Tom Tom 750 Live in northeastern Thailand and it works great. I also use Google Live search on it.

Don't you need to be connected to the internet via computer to download a Google local search? TomTom Live seems to be country specific and since TomTom has no presence in Thailand how does it work here? Also TomTom Live has a monthly subscription fee after the initial trial period.

No, you don't have to be connected to the internet via a computer. You are connected via the satellite system Tom Tom uses. You do have to pay for the use of Google Local Search.

If you are referring to the GPRS receiver inside your TomTom GO 750 LIVE, that is the same technology a mobile phone uses (SIM card) and is not satellite based.

I stand corrected. This is how it works:

How does LIVE Services work?

TomTom LIVE services are 'live connected' services. This means that information and updates for each service - such as the latest traffic information, or weather forecasts - are sent directly to the SIM card of your TomTom device. So you don't need to activate anything and don't need to connect a mobile phone to your navigation device.

(So no need of internet nor a computer)

So you have a TomTom GO 750 LIVE with the GPRS receiver chip coded to accept signals from the Thailand mobile phone system. Interesting. Where did you buy the TomTom?

I bought the Tom Tom in a shop in Belgium. The Live services I ordered online. In Belgium and some other countries the package includes up to date information on road works, traffic jams, speed cameras, petrol prices. The service also suggests other alternative routes in case of road works and traffic jams.

Your original post #70 implied that TomTom LIVE, or at least the local search with Google portion, was working in northeastern Thailand. Is that the case?
