Iran war goes global as tourist sites targeted

GLOBAL WAR.jpg

Mixed Messages As War Escalates And Marines Surge In

Three weeks into a spiralling Middle East war, Donald Trump is sending wildly mixed signals — ramping up military deployments while hinting he may already be looking for the exit.

On one hand, Washington is pouring more firepower into the region, with thousands of additional US Marines and multiple warships heading toward the conflict zone. On the other, Trump is now claiming the US could soon begin “winding down” operations — even as the war shows no sign of slowing.

The contradiction is raising serious questions: is this escalation… or the start of a climbdown?

Iran Widens Threats — Now Targeting Tourist sites and recreational areas worldwide.

As confusion swirls in Washington, Iran is turning up the heat.

Tehran has issued chilling warnings that it could expand attacks beyond the Middle East — targeting not just military assets, but tourist sites and recreational areas worldwide.

The threat marks a dangerous shift, suggesting the conflict could spill far beyond traditional battlefields and into civilian spaces across the globe.

At the same time, Iran continues to choke one of the world’s most critical النفط chokepoints — the Strait of Hormuz — disrupting global shipping and sending shockwaves through energy markets.

Missiles Fly As Region Edges Toward Wider War

On the ground, the fighting is intensifying.

Israel says Iranian missiles are still being fired, while Saudi Arabia claims it intercepted waves of drones targeting key oil-producing regions. Airstrikes continue to pound Tehran, even as Iranians marked Nowruz under the shadow of war.

The region is now a tinderbox — with oil supplies squeezed, global prices surging, and the risk of a broader conflict growing by the day.

Boots “Not On The Ground”… But Forces Keep Building

Despite repeatedly insisting there will be no US ground invasion, Trump has now approved the deployment of roughly 5,000 additional Marines — joining more than 50,000 American troops already stationed in the region.

That contradiction hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Critics say the steady military build-up tells a very different story to the president’s public claims — fuelling fears that Washington is sliding deeper into a war it may struggle to control.

War Goals Unclear — Endgame Even Less So

The White House has offered shifting justifications for the conflict — from crippling Iran’s nuclear programme to triggering regime change.

So far, neither appears close.

And with Tehran still striking back, global oil markets in turmoil, and allies increasingly uneasy, one question looms large:

If this is what “winding down” looks like… what happens if it escalates?
