Trump’s 48-hour ultimatum: open Hormuz or your power plants will be ‘obliterated’

President Issues Stark ‘Open It Or Be Hit’ Warning

Donald Trump has issued a chilling 48-hour ultimatum to Iran — reopen the Strait of Hormuz or face devastating US strikes.

In a late-night blast on Truth Social, Trump warned that if Tehran fails to “FULLY OPEN” the vital shipping lane, the United States will “hit and obliterate” Iran’s power plants — starting with its largest.

The threat marks one of the most direct escalations yet in a war already shaking global markets and pushing oil prices sharply higher.

Oil Lifeline Under Siege As Global Markets Rattle

Iran’s move to choke the Strait — a corridor carrying roughly a fifth of the world’s oil — has sent shockwaves through the global economy.

Despite the danger, nearly 100 ships have still attempted to transit the narrow passage in recent weeks, even as attacks and threats continue to stalk the waters.

With energy flows disrupted, fears are mounting of a full-scale economic crisis if the standoff drags on.

Missiles Strike Near Israel Nuclear Hub

As the war intensifies, Iran has launched fresh strikes deep inside Israel.

Missiles hit areas near the nuclear research centre at Dimona, leaving buildings shattered and multiple people seriously injured — the first time the sensitive site has been caught up in the conflict.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called it a “very difficult evening,” as military chiefs warned the war is far from over.

‘No Boots On The Ground’ — But Plans Say Otherwise

Despite repeated claims there will be no US ground invasion, signs are growing that Washington is preparing for exactly that.

Behind the scenes, officials are reportedly discussing options to seize or blockade Kharg Island — the critical terminal through which the vast majority of Iran’s oil exports flow.

At the same time, thousands of additional US Marines are being deployed to the region aboard warships including the USS Tripoli.

Countdown To Confrontation

With a 48-hour clock now ticking, the crisis is entering a dangerous new phase.

Trump insists the threat is necessary to force Iran’s hand — but critics warn it risks triggering exactly the kind of wider war the world fears.

If Tehran refuses to back down, the next move could ignite a confrontation with consequences far beyond the Middle East.
