I completely agree it's sterile and unfriendly. Obviously I wasn't taking rooftop pics views while taking a walk and trolling. Beautiful breathable air for big city too.

However the city is not unsafe and it is extremely efficient. To say it is unsafe and a craphole compared to pattaya is having a jealous fit.

Looks pretty cool. I have only been to the west coast - Vancouver and Victoria - a family member lived in Seattle so I had a look. My post was seconds after yours where you said something similar.

Canada is boring and cold alot of the year, there's a reason Canadians live in Thailand, Pattaya isn't unsafe unless you go to bars late at night and look for trouble.

I've travelled all over the world, never bothered with Canada, there was always a better option

I agree, Each and every day of the nine years I lived there was a new adventure. I woke up every morning with the mental equivalent of a smile, thinking to myself, "What will happen today?"

The condo I had in central Pattaya was the functional equal of the one I'd had in the U.S., but at one-sixth of the monthly rent I had paid in metro NYC. I had shops, banks, barbers, laundry, doctor and dentist offices and everything else I needed in everyday life within walking distance. I had access to high-speed Internet and hundreds of TV channels at a very low cost. Restaurants abounded, with all sorts of great food at a pittance.

Beer bars with hostesses were literally next door and nightlife areas like Walking Street, LK Metro and Soi 6 were in easy walking or baht bus distance. Day or night, drunk or sober, it never felt unsafe as long as I avoided boozed up younger farang guys out for trouble.

The only things I really missed were proper sidewalks, traffic lights at all intersections and metered taxis that could be hailed on the street. In terms of the big picture, those were minor factors.
