Aren't you embarrassed to live in Pattaya

If I owned you any more in this thread, I would be making you grow your hair out and get hormone shots and commit sex acts in the prison yards so that I can have free cigarettes

    Nope, love living here.

I’m more curious where you live that’s so flawless. A utopia, is it? No drunks, no dodgy headlines, no locals behaving badly… just everyone sipping herbal tea and filing their taxes early?

Why do you have such a compulsion to post dispiriting content on this forum. That’s the question you should be asking.

That comment should be in the joke section as there is no way that the congenital idiot could ever be described as "he's pretty sharp, sharper than 99% on here,"

If you believe that then you are putting your "sharper" score below it's!

Where do I find the joke section?........... I wanna see how my peers are fairing...............

“ Beaten by a Bogan. Off Piste shares his tragedy.”.

Where is the GoFundMe? I want to toss him five bucks.

Which in Bogan land buys a week in a gym with no air conditioning in Ubon.

Or as RainMan calls it with his odd penchant for shortening all Thai town names:

It is interesting how people talk.

How would you know how people talk as all you seem to do is make erroneous/insulting posts on AN which have no connection with reality!

I gotta say, the insulting posts are two way....... I don't think anyone would disagree with that.......... personally, I don't understand it, it just seems a waste of energy, kinda not what Thai Visa was all about.................

Yeah it's a shame. Not many helpful posters. Forum has been ruined by people like him. He has never even been on a Thai train. He was googling food prices on them. He just acts like a little boy who never grew up. Obviously he is poor and depressed. He uses emojis and ! to lift his spirits. He needs to seek professional help. It is sad to see a 70yo act like that.

Good to see a normal person on here. These other wackos are too far gone. Pattaya has ruined them.

Took the train from Surat to CM in a day and a half back when........flipping fantastic..................

but how many does one actually interact with?

I don't know any bogans, or personally know anyone from AU or NZ. I guess a bogan equates to Yank version of 'trailer trash' or extreme 'ghetto dweller', 'redneck', 'hillbilly'.

Many embarrassing looking folks in metros & tourist areas, but again, don't know any of them, and try not to judge by looks. Could just be skint, and or fashion challenged.

Yeah it is fantastic. All the routes are good. Apart from a car, trains are the best way to see the country. A lot of stations are being upgraded. The old local trains are the most charming thing to experience. Hope they stay around for decades.

A bogan can't speak without swearing every 3rd or 4th word. Hua Hin has half bogans, the full ones go to Pattaya, Phuket and Bali.

I've know a few Australians, and most of them after I moved here. All are okay with one a loud one when he drank. At a party at a friends house for Christmas, he took off all his clothes and jumped in the pool. Lost his first wife to the raw fish eaten here, and is now with another one. Both are (was) nice. He used to fish the pay and fish near my house with his wife every week, and I see him at Lotus once in awhile.

As far as bogans, I've know a few American equivalents, mostly harmless that just got loud while drinking. Rednecks by nature, and okay when you get to know them, especially seeing they love hunting and fishing.

I am taking her out for Spanish food here in Singapore. What do you order in a Spanish restaurant?

We are getting paella for six people.

But…. But it’s just rice and fish -couldn’t we just cook rice in our room and toss in some frozen shrimp?

That’s one hilarious response already preempted.

Why not a good Tapa Bar / Restaurant, and get a bit of everything. If a stewed beef fan, order up a 'Estofado de Ternera' (ribeye if a choice).

ENJOY

Paella is not rice and fish. The base is saffron rice and can equally be served with rabbit or chicken. You could start with Gambas al Pil-Pil for a seafood starter and then move on to a Paella. Of course if you are in a Tapas restaurant, you may have many more choices.

For 95% of the world, paella means seafood, citing rabbit paella is a Spanish food deep dive. I never had stewed beef that I didn’t love.

For me, tapas means veg side dishes of the kind that I’m not going to see elsewhere, this one is offering artichokes with garlic and pricey olive oil.

But I’m not going. She’s taking her employee who is attending a conference here with her.

She has been trapped speaking English to me for days. She needs a break to gossip with her old gay friend.

I’m popping across the street for a hamburger in a French restaurant. I never had a less than great hamburger in a French restaurant.

50/50 they default to Korean food. It’s among my least favorite cuisines, except for the calorie bomb that is a kimchi pancake.

It did something similar as @Harrisfan in it's last persona with a fictitious trip from CM to southern Thailand!

It has forgotten Judge Judy's famous statement "You do not need a good memory if you tell the truth"!

PS' others may have said it before her but that is the one I remember!

95%? That's definitely a figure you pulled out of your ... 😊

Perhaps North Americans.

A much lesser percentage of Europeans. Most will have experienced it with chicken or a mix of chicken and seafood. Rabbit in Spain itself.

Similarly your imaginings of Tapas...

You might have, as before, Gambas al Pil-Pil, Albondigas, Boquerones... Various cheeses...

Much more than just vegetables and bread.

My favourite Tapas bar was actually in Ibiza. I've forgotten the name 🙃

Was out there with friends doing the Manumission thing.

We need Fred Wiggy to chime in about the joys of eating rabbit meat.

He has killed thousands of rabbits. A one man rabbit holocaust.

Nice to have a layover and take in SukoThai, then onward by bus, via Tak for the astonishing and seldom visited waterfall.

I know an old white guy who was a village elder in Tak.

He used to post here. Guess why he doesn’t anymore.

He's eaten everything on earth simply by living in the USA. It has everything there. He didn't need to travel at all. 😉

Rocky Road and Scottie John just don't seem to get along. In real life they'd probably be bosom buddies best of friends but in Asean Now it just isn't working. Hey how about from now neither one mentions the other ever again. Thanks.

There is no chance in hell that I could ever communicate with that dimwit in real life!
