You are spot on. The USA has a huge diversity of food choices. Plus, our Pizza is better.

Better than what? Horse dung?

    Nope, love living here.

I’m more curious where you live that’s so flawless. A utopia, is it? No drunks, no dodgy headlines, no locals behaving badly… just everyone sipping herbal tea and filing their taxes early?

Why do you have such a compulsion to post dispiriting content on this forum. That’s the question you should be asking.

Have you tasted horse dung? How does it taste?

A person that visits a country and has a few pizzas actually thinks he can compare that experience with decades of eating at hundreds of ethnic restaurants all over the US, along with shopping at countless stores. In my case, 62 years of eating and living amongst those people.

Also amazing the lack of common sense, thinking we can't get good ingredients in the US, along with hundreds of chefs from all over the world in one country, using their skills to match or beat those in their own homelands.

All of the supermarkets in the USA that I visited, bar Wholefoods, sold absolute cr@p. Many of the restaurants that we visited, including 'ethnic' restaurants were terrible. Overcooked rice and very average everything else or just big portions of cr@p. Not everywhere, but we both suffered indigestion. tried cooking at home, as we chose places with kitchens. Fake ingredients, such as Parmesan proclaiming itself to be Artisan. This was my experience. marketing over substance. if you think it's all great, bully for you.

No, but I tasted American food and imagined it should just be fed to the pigs.

Home made. Don't try to gaslight me.

I've been know to whip up a little snack now & then ...

... Geez, if I'm not replying to trolls, then I'm yakking about food, w/ photos.

What you want, Lobster Rolls, pizza, roast beef, eggs benedict, cheesecake, butter, scrapple, cheese, Scotch eggs.

How about some Bailey's or EggNog, yea, homemade also.

Even made currant preserves the other day, a first. I'll never buy jelly or preserves again

I'm not going to knock your cooking, as we aren't discussing that. Home cooking is not traditional NY Pizza.

Stop taking it personally and understand I am discussing my very real experience of traversing the world, sampling different foodstuffs.

In place of you. I wanted to see what you ate. America is known worldwide for junk food. Let's be honest with ourselves here. I travelled to check it out for myself.

We have junk food and we restaurants. Tell, where did you trade in the USA?

MSM? What on earth are you going on about? This thread isn't about you.

No, not everyone travels internationally for food. Don't write nonsense.

Fred and yourself are versed in American products. Enough said on that. He fools himself that he's had the best in the world whilst not ever leaving the USA. It's just such incredible nonsense.

There are many aspects of my upbringing and life that I haven't mentioned here at all. I prefer understated.

Did I say 'international'. I have, since worked for airlines. But most Yanks don't leave the Ameicas.

If you live in USA, you really don't need to travel, to sample some of the best foods from so many countries & regions. I've had my best Thai from Philly's Chinatown, and from what I understand, doesn't compare to other cities. Use to eat great Thai @ South St Philly and a place in Plantation, FL, I think, Boca/Ft Laud. area, west of (?).

I myself prefer Mexican (not TexMex) & Caribbean cuisine, since that was my playground for diving. Been to most cities my airlines flew to, in USA, for food & sex 🙄

I guess you meant travel.

New York, Miami, throughout California. British and American Virgin Islands. Puerto Rico... Some places more than once. Might remember more places later. There were only two places to which we returned. Carnegies and New York Tea House, from memory.

The top restaurants from the marketing website he uses as a reference, all refer to Neapolitan pizza,

Not a fan myself. Had a few decent one's, even excellent, but prefer what the S. Philly Italians whipped up, as that's what I was raised on.

As I wrote before, don't take it all so personally. We were discussing NY Pizza as a health food 😊 Take it easy 😊

I'm just saying this best in the world stuff you guys throw around is just, embarrassing.

Are you trying to bull<deleted> me that you can find good food in New York and Calforina?

I'm sorry, do you have to live in NY to eat traditional NY Pizza. You do realize how ridiculous that sounds. I don't need to go to Italy to buy flour, cheeses, olive oil, sausage.

You've eaten, been fed. Try cooking from scratch, and you'll truly appreciate good food, whether you made it, or prepared for you. Understanding the science and complexity, even simplicity of some things.

Some folks do, other have it done for them. And the dog will appreciate the learning curve ... well, usually. Even she has standards.

Again, don't need to travel for good food from anywhere. No need to go to Italy for a great cannoli. Remember, USA is a melting pot of immigrants. Especially Philly, Amish/Germans, Italians. All the deep sea ports along the East coast, Gulf and West coast. Immigrants R Us.

I've also had crappy Thai food in TH, crappy Cheesesteaks in Philly. Go figure.

Recipes ... now that's funny. Someone cooking for themselves, for 55+ yrs, don't need no stinkin' recipes.

I'm pretty sure you don't home cook in your condo.

And there's the MSM thing you questioned me about. And we're all fat slobs. Maybe you only ate at tourist traps, in tourist areas.

There's junk food in every country, along with fat slobs. Just like Bangla, soi 6, and Nana, easy to avoid, like tourist trap food. I takes a while to find good food, or very lucky. Not easily done on a holiday sometimes, especially if you don't self drive.

I'm sure you've had some excellent & crappy food, we all have. But for some reason, yours is better, and well, we didn't have any excellent food. hmm

Let that sink in ... and remember, it's not about me

Oh stop it....you are writing nonsense now. I already told you. Parmesan and Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese...not same same. If you want to sane quality as the best of Italy, you are going to have to pay for it. For the average person, the quality of the food is low.

How can you claim to know it best when you haven't even tried it? Is it normal for Americans to be so ignorant and arrogant with it?

I've tried both inside and out, so better placed to make a distinction.
