I am taking her out for Spanish food here in Singapore. What do you order in a Spanish restaurant?

We are getting paella for six people.

But…. But it’s just rice and fish -couldn’t we just cook rice in our room and toss in some frozen shrimp?

That’s one hilarious response already preempted.

Nothing worse than Paella, so over rated

Why do you have such a compulsion to post dispiriting content on this forum. That’s the question you should be asking.

Spanish food in Bangkok at least is over rated. It's not like italian places where you can really get some great pizza. But in Spain those tapas and paellas are really good and so cheap unlike the mid ripity ripoff in Thailand.

All farang food in Thailand is overpriced. 50 baht for Thai food and 300 baht for a burger. 25 baht for a fresh coconut and 300 baht for guiness. Farang food is aimed at the muppets. When in Rome...

I'd argue that there are some great bakeries here and invariably, the price is far cheaper than the equivalent in Europe for example..............

Someone earlier mentioned 'rabbit' in paella, that's a Valencian paella ingredient..........It could be deemed overated, certainly in BKK, that's a given, but if you're harbourside somewhere on one of the costas with a chilled vino blanco and half a lemon on the side, maybe not so.....................

We need Fred Wiggy to chime in about the joys of eating rabbit meat.

He has killed thousands of rabbits. A one man rabbit holocaust.

Since you insist. Actually haven't had rabbit too many times, some shot by me and some by others. Liked it and bought it frozen a few times. Mainly in sauces but fried also. Will have it again when we return but I haven't hunted them since I first moved to Texas in the 80's. Mostly a Deer hunter.

You would be lucky to get a McDonald’s hamburger and fries for $10 back in the west, so complaining that an expensive import is overpriced here is not rational. 20–25 $ would be the going restaurant rate back home.

To come to Thailand and mostly eat fish ball soup is just sad. 25 baht coconut claims in white person places are another firm indicator that he hasn’t been here for a while.

More money for street hookers, I guess. Excuse me, I mean “hot girlfriends”.

He actually lists “economics” as his hobbbbieeeeee.

It’s like watching a dog try to do brain surgery.

But I agree with Steve, paella is disappointing about 90% of the time.

No matter how tasty Thai food is, and it is a favorite, no foreigner gives up their own ethnic foods unless they aren't available where he's moved to. Seeing that's not usually the case, and some like me need to drive a little to reach decent restaurants, we can still enjoy good pizza, burgers and beer here if we want.

It's not overpriced but acceptable, as it is "foreign" food and foreign restaurants are spread out in the country areas, Bangkok having more in one place.

I haven't had BBQ here but not a problem as I had the best last year and every year I visited home, and will enjoy it, along with all other worldwide foods, all available in Texas, when we return, along with the Wine and Beer at high prices.

Foreign food is aimed at everyone, especially foreigners who still want a taste of home while living in Asia, and millions of Thai's love foreign food as can be seen in what's sold here, which is something they've come to love..

Burgers and pizzas are mostly junk unless well made and not really ethnic food. Meat is meat and if you put it with rice instead of bread it is still meat. I have not eaten pizza for 12 months. I eat burgers but only if fair price.

Don't eat McDonalds. Too expensive and not worth it. Burger King has specials via their app such as Whopper or Bacon Deluxe and chips for $7.50. Pizza Hut has $7 pizzas. In Bangkok a single burger was 290 baht at some caravan. Around the corner 50 baht for a large khaopat moo.

Pizza is ethnic food and not junk. Neither are burgers if you use good ingredients. Most of what goes into pizza is healthy ingredients although it's calorie laden so should be eaten in small amounts, if that's possible. You need to remember you can't tell others what's right for them as it's a personal thing, eating and drinking.

Meat is meat? What does that mean exactly? You can't lump all meat into one category as some is stringy and tough and some is moist and tender. Thai buffalo or cow meat compared to Texas, Japanese, Argentine or Australian Ribeye?

Beef, chicken, fish and pork can all be eaten with rice or bread. Again a personal choice with countless dishes for each. Also can't compare a good Wagyu cheeseburger with a McDonald's piece of cardboard. You have to pay more for better quality here and elsewhere.

You don't compare Thai food with western. You enjoy both.

In March I went to a Muslim restaurant on the beach. 50 baht for a nice meal with a view. Eat two if hungry. Concrete table and seats. Right next to sand. Down the road they had a mix of Thai and western food for 200 baht up on the opposite side of the road away from the beach. People are paying extra for a pretty seat and table.

Pizza is Italian and 80% bread. It's a big serve of flour. Meat is 25 to 30% protein. It is mostly flavourless without salt and fat. Wagyu has fat ripples which when cooked add the flavour. Lean meat tastes like nothing. Put a cheap cut of meat into a sauce or curry there is your flavour. In the 1800s Lobster was cheap, now trendy and expensive. The public are so gullible. Lobster is the same as meat in that it is the sauce, salt or fat making the flavour.

He would eat you know what if it were cheap enough.

Trip in March? You didn’t even mention it. Just more retarded lies.

At 55 with no money, you’ll be living in a men’s shelter soon enough, waxing one out over long ago rural prostitutes

I know what comprises pizza but it's still a good thing to eat in small quantities. Meat is flavorless? Guess you haven't had any good beef yet. Fat helps with flavor but lean cuts still are excellent if not over cooked.

Cheaper cuts are made for sauces and spices. Good cuts don't need anything. Yes, you can use AI or other sauce on any steak and it'll taste good, but different, and it's not necessary unless you want a change.

Lobster tastes good but does need butter and costs more the further away it's shipped, along with demand.

Lean meat has almost zero flavour. That is why you add condiments or sauce. Pork belly has loads of flavour compared to lean pork.

Ask a chef to educate you.

Being a daily cook for decades, and eating the best meat available on earth for decades, I know how it tastes. Again, remember you can't answer for anyone regarding personal tastes, as it's, personal. Some people hate sirloin and prefer Ribeye.

I like all cuts, and have eaten Venison all my life. Some tough as leather and some as good as good beef, all depending on who made it and how it's prepared from kill to plate. The same with Elk, Sheep or Moose.

As far as pork, it can taste good if properly cooked, and Bacon tastes great, even though it's mostly fat, which is why it's a very occasional thing for me, as is any fatty meats.

T-Bone, Porterhouse, NY Strip, all have more fat than Sirloin and taste great without anything added. Lean meat might have zero flavor to you, but not to me and millions of others. if you smoke or drink heavily, your taste buds might be damaged, so you might not be able to taste the flavor of lean meat like I and others can. No one needs a chef to tell them what tastes good for them.

These are great exaggerations. Actually food in the west is cheap. Much cheaper than Thailand if you are not eating outside. I find everything in Toronto cheaper than Bangkok.

And as luck will have it, I just ordered via app a McDonald's dinner. Combo meal for 5.65 CAD that is 130 baht.

Now go ahead people, critique my dining choice. I'm sure that's cumming

There is a lake literally on the other side. What can I say? It's a beautiful place to raise a dog.
