Glucosamine + Chondroitin

Featured Replies

Anyone know where I can buy Glucosamine + Chondroitin (for arthritis, chondromalacia, etc) in Bangkok? Mostly what I see available is Viartril, which is Glucosamine only. Triple Flex is the most popular brand in the USA.

Seems an obvious question, but have you tried GNC?

No, but I've used several other brands. I don't mind which brand it is but I'd prefer it to be available in shops in Bangkok. The only brand I've ever seen here was a no-name product that was only available from a pharmaceutical wholesaler. I can order Triple Flex online but the shipping makes it a bit expensive and it takes 21 days to arrive.

Have you bought GNC in Thailand?

Without looking very hard I managed to find the LYNAE brand of glucosamine and chondroitin at the well-known pharmacy on Sukhumvit between sois 2 and 4. 1200 baht for 60 caps, which works out at 60 baht per daily dose against 20 baht per day if ordering the 150-cap bottle of Triple Flex online (including shipping). Big difference. :o

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but is it okay to bring glucosamine sulphate in to the country? I'm assuming it is not a prescription drug.

Go to: puritanpride.com they have a wide selection of what you're looking for. They will ship to Thailand, but you have to figure it out if it's cost effective for you.

I just go into a pharmacy were ever I am in Thailand and buy it. Of course I amnot fussy about the brand I just take what they have in stock.

Actually, I really want to know if it's okay to bring glucosamine sulphate into the country. My mate has had 500 pills sent to my address in the UK for me to bring over.

I can't answer your question, but in general one is only allowed to bring in prescription medcation with a letter from a doctor and not more worth for 30 days. When in doubt, go to the red channel and declare it.The thread does seem to suggest that it is not a prescription drug and you can buy it freely in Thailand.
