K Bank are amazing

I’m amazed so many people use a computer for banking when the convenience of having a phone app that does everything, is simpler and has better security is readily available!

Always do what's best for you and allow others to do the same.

I rarely use Kbiz these days as the app is better for my needs. But reading your post I thought I'd try and login and see if anything had changed. Went to the website login page, no sign of any QR code, entered usual name and password and was in my account like normal. Strange how there's no consistency in these things.

Same for me , bussenis and 2 private accounts al open trough website and K+ app

For instance I have had Baluang Banking online for nearly 20 years & have quite a list of 3rd party pre-approved ( no OTP needed) transfer accounts saved

Yet the Bangkok Bank app does not populate them into the app just has like 3 really older 3rd party accounts in transfer list.

Also depending on how large your transactions are etc it is nicer on a full PC screen for myself anyway

I got the SMS from K bank yesterday

'From May 2026, K BIZ website login and transaction approval will require K BIZ App. Visit any KBank branch with your passport, passbook, and this SMS to verify identity and register face scan, then download via App Store/Play Store and activate K BIZ App.'

Also got an email with this information 6th May 2026 🤮

I just recently got the K+ app on a newly opened account at Kasikorn

I tried to get into K-Biz online but was told by their operator "new" normal accounts can no longer K-Biz online

Only new business accounts

Perfect for those overseas making transfers without the Thai OTP hassle..............but security-wise, less accounts available to transfer to, maybe a good thing..................

Actually when overseas you can use your registered Thai phone number to receive OPT's free via wifi calling with the Thai number associated with account. For those staying longer overseas the True move pay as you go requires only 15 baht per 6 months to keep number active.

That's good to know...I've never done wifi calling, need to look into.......I always just pay my True @250b a month in advance and leave sim with friend for the OTPs....

Yeah it is great & works perfectly as long as your phone can do wifi calling

Also that True plan is dirt cheap like I said 15 baht for 6 months 30 for a year

You can just leave a couple hundred baht on there & pretty much forget it

Even now we are back in Thailand & it barely goes down as I usually use wifi calling even here & they do not charge for incoming texts from banks etc only if you send text via mobile data & even then only like 3 baht per text message

I just looked in my phone & it is called True 5G prepaid

Have had it for 8 years 2 months 21 days ...so they say haha

You can also get the OTP through the phone roaming service (no data) with *118 *001# but must activate it before leaving Thailand and do it every 10 days before it expires. However I could not reactivate on 10 days. The call center told me it was only good for 9 days so a difference between them and the SMS that was sent.

They will not tell you this unless you tell them you need it.

I have the same email from Kasikorn. Currently my Japanese partner cannot log into her Kasikorn account without the kbiz app, but I still can. My question is, why are we using Kbiz for a personal savings account?

That was the only way that they would give you website access. They are pushing the majority to the phone app, and before long it will mean everyone as they do not want a website available to the general public. Can you imagine a multi million business have to do transfers on a phone, no, so they have to have a website for business customers but do not want us to use it.

Tell me mate how do you get your monthly statements, Are they sent to your phone or by email. The reason I ask I run cash book software on the computer and reconcile it every month with the statement. Is that what you do?

If I wanted one I’d download from the app.

So you do not do a reconciliation of what you spent against what the bank says. You have never run a business, never needed to to check on where the money went, just accept what the bank says and pay your taxes that the government says you owe. Okay.

I think that's surprisingly quite alot of people. Only when there's an obvious shock discovery of lack of funds suddenly might kickstart some action...............The old adage 'ignorance is bliss' invariably rings true.................

That wasn't my take on what he said at all. If you want a bank statement you can use the app or web site to get them. We don't all need them. A running balance check will do for some. YMMV. Not everyone thinks the same.

Good for you. Most people think otherwise these days where cashless is the main mode of paying for stuff.

A running balance check against what, a cash book, a written note or a figure kept in your head? I am not trying to be difficult or funny as many people keep everything simple, not like me.

So lets go back to my original post about not being able to log into the KBank website directly on a PC. I have 7 accounts with 4 different banks in 2 countries. To keep control of those I need simple access to the website in each bank, something that I have had ever since internet banking was introduced. I have no problem with 3 of the 4 banks so it is annoying when KBank change their rules.

I’ve run a business but I’m not now. I know how much I should have in account so don’t need to reconcile. I did download and print a statement thinking it would be good enough for immigration which obviously it wasn’t so I know it can be done from the app!

Since I'm still one of the prehistoric laptop users here. Will I need to get a dedicated internet line for my phone or can I just use my WIFI at my condo. I'm guessing that If needed I have to go and get the dedicated line before going to KBank for setup?

Thanks

I believe that to use the phone apps you have to use the phones data connection through the phone companies connection True or AIS

only once for the first connection

after first successful setup/connection you can turn off phone company data and just use any WiFi

connection.

I much prefer doing my banking etc on my PC with a big screen, and a proper keyboard & mouse, makes it so much easier.

OK, you must plan to be at home, or on your lappy to do it this way.

Following the K-Plus vs K-Biz message from Kasikorn I went to Kasikorn Central Khon Kaen today. It was heaving! There were 17 people in front of me for the help desks.

The young lad I eventually got to see knew what I wanted and checked my passport against their records and it was OK. ( I had updated it when I got my new passport 2 years ago). I had already downloaded the app using the data connection not my home wifi. The lad opened the app, took my photo and then tried to log on. Rejected. Tried again, rejected as my passport number did not agree. He rang their Helpline in Bangkok and eventually the girl there said the passport number for my K-Plus was correct but there was no passport number associated with my K-Biz account! It would take 4 days for her to add my passport number to the K-Biz account and then send me an email confirming that. Only then I could start to use their app. And Kasikorn are thought to be one of the better banks.

Today I received 5 separate emails from Kasikorn. Apparantly I have:- 1. Updated my date of birth. 2. Updated my nationality. 3. Updated my national ID card number (ie passport). 4. My new profile has been approved. 5. Received the terms and conditions for the K-Biz account.

I logged on for the first time with no problem and immediately increased my daily transfer limit. The max is 500,000 per day. The K-Biz app does tend to feel like it applies to business owners rather than to private individuals in its layout, but it works.

So now one needs a KBiz app on the phone to access the KBiz web site on a PC - and its open to foreigners with passports? The KPlus app on phone won't allow this? Is this correct? Been logging into the web site for over 10 years and now cannot log in without Kbiz scanning the QR it says.

I couldn't login in my account via KBiz website anymore. Therefore i downloaded the KBiz app. The registration process was very easy and worked perfectly from germany. Now I have access via KBiz website again.

Private Banking is a not service, it is a relationship

It does not follow rules, it negotiates them

You exist in a system that prioritizes your relationship

An update: after receiving the emails about the KBiz app nothing changed and I could log into the website as normal. As of this morning I cannot log in without the app, so no more log-ins for me and the funds transferred to Krungsri.

And to rub salt into the wounds I needed to withdraw 30,000 but my ATM limit is only 20,000. A counter withdrawal was necessary and they charged me 56 baht for the service. Amazing.
