Following the K-Plus vs K-Biz message from Kasikorn I went to Kasikorn Central Khon Kaen today. It was heaving! There were 17 people in front of me for the help desks.

The young lad I eventually got to see knew what I wanted and checked my passport against their records and it was OK. ( I had updated it when I got my new passport 2 years ago). I had already downloaded the app using the data connection not my home wifi. The lad opened the app, took my photo and then tried to log on. Rejected. Tried again, rejected as my passport number did not agree. He rang their Helpline in Bangkok and eventually the girl there said the passport number for my K-Plus was correct but there was no passport number associated with my K-Biz account! It would take 4 days for her to add my passport number to the K-Biz account and then send me an email confirming that. Only then I could start to use their app. And Kasikorn are thought to be one of the better banks.

I tried to log on to my K-Biz account on my pc this morning, and it required me to download the app, which I did on my phone. It rejected any attempt to log on or set up the account, as my passport number was not the same as in their records. I find that strange, as a couple of years ago when there was a requirement to register under CRS/FATCA I went along to both Kasikorn and Bangkok Bank and did the necessary, and my passport hasn't changed since then. So I guess I'll have to jump through the same hoops as you. I've used K-Plus for several years, and it's fine, I hope they don't mess that up. I use K-Plus all the time to pay most of my bills, I just like to log on with my pc from time to time to check statements, etc.

How can it enhance security? My money is more secure not having a bank app on my phone.

Not always for me though.... For instance I have had Baluang Banking online for nearly 20 years & have quite a list of 3rd party pre-approved ( no OTP needed) transfer accounts saved Yet the Bang

She has been told that she cannot download the KBiz app because she already has the KPlus app, that she doesn't use.

Sorry but that is completely wrong. I have both the K+ and the Kbiz application on my iphone and both work very well.

It checks the passport you used when you registered for kbiz. It doesn't matter if you've updated your current passport with the bank, they seem not to be connected (I have the same problem).

She has since been told both apps can be downloaded, but why can you use K+ when she has a KBiz account?
