And I thought the counting stopped in Nov 2023. Not that I care but...

as to being name as the emoji poster? Mostly I post for my own amusement unless I am helping someone to solve a problem.

But I will certainly not engage with some butt hurt guy who doesn't like that I disagree with him.

I think people moaning about the emojis is hilarious. I say we keep the emojis, but we should see which leftists who posts all the thumbs-down emojis.

Only positives and question mark. This leaves those who are cowardly and the few trolls to explain themselves, if they can, when they dislike a post. Question mark can have some not understanding, or

It would for you but you aren't a coward. The cowards will group together and do what cowardly people do. The herd of cowards will make discussion near impossible as they did during covid ( names were displayed).

Just remove the thumbs down as many social media sites have done. If that upsets some then they need to take e a close look at themselves.

@CharlieH Gotta agree with this. I'm good with most emojis, but the "thumbs-down" is just rude imho.

Just a general scan of the people asking for NO emojis appears to be the people who generally garner the most Thumbs Down responses to their posts.
That's interesting.
The majority seem to prefer having them. Personally, I like them. But then, I usually only get a couple of Thumbs down for my posts rather than 10-15. That might make a difference.

Conda,Yes , sad to say it seems you have another thumbs down !

I agree with you your posts are far the intelligent on this forum and I believe others are jealous of your academic intelligence , thus the thumb down emoji .

Thumbs up, thumbs down, laughing, maybe the heart. That’s enough.

I’ve yet to figure out the difference between thumbs up and +1.

What’s the purpose of the trophy emoji?

Does getting thumbs up or down affect anything? It seems like everyone’s reputation is “excellent” so what’s the purpose as far as the site managers are concerned?

If I get a thumbs down it doesn’t matter much. Maybe if one post got 20 I’d react. Otherwise it’s like water off a duck’s back.

Emojis save time.

If you have to reply every time some poster post the same sh-t,

you need 25 hour days or more.

Same for good posts you strongly agree with, emoji is better than

replying you agree or love what he said.

I am surprized that not more people use emojis.

What is the maximum of emojis a post can have ?

Maybe 20-30 "votes" , so only a core of 20 to a 100 members

use emojis ?

Or AN has only 100 active posters/ reactors ?

You rarely post so mainly an emojis guy it seems

The bozos who put a thumbs down on that post must give alot of thumbs down and don't want to be outed, maybe best to ban those

Keep the Thumb down going but name the person who does it. Eventually they will think twice before doing it.

Why should they have to think twice about doing it, because if they dislike a post, the thumbs down emoji would seem to fit.

There will be some folks who dislike the thumbs down emoji, for many reasons, and it could set up some sort of "conflict" if the name of the person who does that is shown.

Luckily I've had very few thumbs down emojis in my almost 20 years on here, so it doesn't really bother me if I do get one, so I just move on to the next subject........

He who is without sin let him cast the first stone :- John 8:7,

There are 8 emojis now. Maybe only 4 are needed.

Why not get rid of some of them like the broken heart. Aren't the thumbs up and the Agreement emojis basically the same?

No they won't.

It could be quite simple.

Now you can put posters on ignore, so why

not in your account a button to show you're

a snowflake that wants it safe space on AN and

hide emojis on your posts or on all posts.

An ignore emojis option, like ignore posters option.

I don't want/need to post 33k waste of space posts (like you).

And I have a life and not that much time to waste.

@CharlieH He might be onto something here. But still recommend thumbs down doesn't count against community reputation.

I'm guessing you must be one of those who get a lot of thumbs-down emojis.
That's OK. You're welcome here too. We need balance. 🙂

No, I'm just a normal poster that doesn't value myself by thumbs up or thumbs down. Some just need the validation :)

Your the guy that preaches self awareness and meditation on other threads.

REFRESH THE PAGE : Members and Advanced members can now SEE who left the emojis !

This will remain in place until the end of this month - if we, as Mods and Admin, see the return of problems, they will be turned off again.

I've never seen you post before, very unmemorable, no wonder you only give thumbs down 👎

I have 3 regular thumbs down followers. 2 names I knew. The other I didnt. Interesting to see how cowardly these guys are. 5 foot 5 guys no doubt. Small men. Small actions.

Great we can now see who gives the emojis, thank you Mods, the right decision 👍

Agree, Endorse, Like, Love.......what's the difference? All positives. But there should be a negative, but not three, Dislike, Unclear and Heartbroken, although is this for the poster or replier being heartbroken ? Thanks is self-explanatory.

Exactly. Sometimes you don't have time to write a detailed post but want to express that you disagree with it. Sometime you have written detailed replies earlier in the thread and someone repeats something and you don't want to rewrite everything all over again so you can just click on disagree. It's also a useful way to gauge how many people agree or disagree with something you've written.

I can't for the life of me get my head around the fact that grown adults cry about them.
