I have 3 regular thumbs down followers. 2 names I knew. The other I didnt. Interesting to see how cowardly these guys are. 5 foot 5 guys no doubt. Small men. Small actions.

And that kind of comment is EXACTLY one of the reasons they were made anonymous!

I think people moaning about the emojis is hilarious. I say we keep the emojis, but we should see which leftists who posts all the thumbs-down emojis.

Only positives and question mark. This leaves those who are cowardly and the few trolls to explain themselves, if they can, when they dislike a post. Question mark can have some not understanding, or

I'd like to see a poll of who wants the emoji poster name disclosed, i reckon 100% Yes

it doesnt- it neutral rating has no effect.

This change must have just recently been made, right? Also noticed that all the thumbs down emojis from past posts have been deleted. With the dropping of anonymity, I'm sure there's a lot of people who will be breathing heavy sighs of relief over that change.

It’s apparent that some never have anything to say and simply spitefully have it in for other members, they just pass through to hit as many emojis as they can. How about if you’re not gonna get rid of them, then: nothing to say and no reply to the post, then no emoji on the post.

People should discuss topics. Attack the subject not the poster. Why are old men attacking strangers online? They would not do it in real life. Say why you like or hate Bangkok don't attack some stranger for the opposite opinion. If we all liked the same things would not life be boring?

It's much better to show them, flurry of activity will die down in a few days

This will remain in place until the end of this month - if we, as Mods and Admin, see the return of problems, they will be turned off again.

That's great. I think it should reduce the occurrences of 'emoji trolling' which a certain category of users like to partake in. They might think twice now that they have to take responsibility for their stances.

And comments like these will likely lead to them being anonymised again.

Stop being upset by them, accept people have the right to disagree. Move on with your life.

Great we can now see who gives the emojis, thank you Mods, the right decision 👍

Yes, it's great to see but I never thought it'd happen.

Thanks admin 🙏

I reckon the trigger finger thumbs down guys will be seeking therapy from their Psychiatrist in days to come

The top 3 thumbs down people each week should get a 7 day suspension for being negative. That would fix the negative problem.

Simple fix I would have thought.

Just to bring this up one more time as I watch you zero in on your "target" of today, JensenZ. Quite hypocritical.

Upset no, but i find it odd behaviour where the usual motley crew just post negative emojis, rarely make a useful post

You click on my profile daily. Give me thumbs down a lot too.

Pot kettle black. You rarely discuss topics. You make things personal.

I sent you photos via pm from Thailand which you asked for as you claimed I have not been for years. You failed to respond. No class whatsoever.

Be a man dude. Show some class.

How are you going to achieve that across 1500 posts per day ?

Algo program? I don't know. An IT guy could sort it. They put a man on the moon in 69. Should be fairly easy for an IT guru. List the top 3 most negative emoji givers each Sunday. It is probably the same 3 or 4 guys each week.

I gave a Thumbs Down for this post, as I disagree. Mainly because you attempt to label people as Trolls and Cowards for merely disagreeing with you.

As you know, I have no issue with agreeing or disagreeing with anyone in writing. Do you feel better if someone disagrees whilst providing a full explanation and worse if they simply plant an emoji in disagreement?

Have you considered that some people will make the choice of simply planting an emoji in order to avoid a long winded discussion?

The issue is not emojis, but the 'sensitivity' of certain posters to any perceived disagreement or criticism.

My only objection would be to people who use them merely due to a grudge held, rather than the actual content of their post.

Ok, go get yourself an approved Invisions platform developer, get the program written - pay for it and pass it over - Thanks

At the end of the month, if you're able to analyse the data i predict there will be far less thumbs down emojis, than previous months

Fair points as IT gurus would be expensive.

A better idea - each week list the top three receivers of negative emojis so we can all see who posts the dumbest stuff.

I am not so sure. They never used to be anonymous. It certainly didn't change my habits when they made them anonymous. I still give the same amount of positive and negative votes as I used to.

but it's not always the dumbest stuff, those emoji people have a fetish for posting negatively, rarely a useful comment posted

I received over 50 thumbs down on one of my comments.

I was in agreement to Thailand's dual pricing.

I'm sure it wasn't a dumb comment.

Maybe. Maybe not. There’s been more than one post made in the past that probably deserved every 👎 they got. So would a time out reward the OP while punishing the emoji wielding account?

Your proposal would bring in too much subjectivity me thinks.

Another forum I use has this lot, not anonymous: -

image.png

  • Like

  • Love

  • Laugh

  • Wow!

  • Sad

  • Unsure

  • Yikes!

  • Off Topic.

I see no real evidence of emoji stalking, but I'm not a mod there so I don't see what's removed.

Personally, here I'd like to see Thumbs up, Thumbs down, Laugh.

If anyone wants to express something different they can write an actual reply.

Which we can then remove whistling

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

That method would require a by topic at best - and take along time supplying urls for each topic created each day - hundreds of them ! baring in mind that the topic just analysed- can change in the next 30 seconds. - It doesnt work.
