I am not in the UK to see it with my own eyes, so I rely on the media. Whilst you don't believe everything in the media, you also can not dismiss things if they are reported on by reputable media companies, or the same story is published across multiple media companies.

What about something simple like buying the companies / factories making all these rubber boats and closing them down, thus causing a shortage in boats. At least it will slow them down. Apparently the gang masters place an order to suppliers in China what size boat they can make and there delivered. The money from one of these trips like yesterday netted around £230,000 pounds go to these gang masters in a one way sailing. Two a day boats this size will be netting nearly half a million. They don't care if any Die.

We’ve charged a student officer with the rape and kidnap of a woman in Manchester while off-duty over the weekend.

The charges have been authorised by the Crown Prosecution Service following a GMP investigation.

Mohammad Hassan (23), of Asian-Pakistani ethnicity, has been remanded in custody. He has been suspended by the force.

He will appear at Manchester Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (11 August) accused of the following offences:

• Oral Rape

• Kidnap

• Strangulation

• Sexual Assault

• Theft of mobile phone

• Dangerous Driving

The charges relate to reports made to GMP on the evening of Saturday 8 August which ended in a police pursuit on the M62 in West Yorkshire.

A woman was safeguarded at the scene and continues to be supported by specialist officers and support services.

Assistant Chief Constable Mark Dexter said: “GMP detectives and staff have been working on this investigation throughout the last 48 hours to ensure charges are brought in this case.

“The victim is our priority, and we are ensuring she continues to receive specialist support. Criminal proceedings must now take its course without interference.

“I understand, and share, the feeling among the public and our thousands of hard-working, decent staff who will have seen this news. Proceedings are underway and necessary action will be decisively taken within the regulations.”

If made in certain locations / countries, they could be make an offer too good to refuse. Or, similar to what happened in The Golden Triangle. Poppy farmers were paid more to grow coffee, for example, than what they were getting off the drug lords to grow opium.

The UK could offer the factories an incentive to retool the factory to manufacture another product. Like I said, it was just an idea. Nothing is being done at the moment.

In that case, the UK could make it a diplomatic issue and bring it up with the Chinese government.

Nothing for free, of course. A deal could be put in place and the UK either get to buy these boat first, thus locking out the gang master from their chosen form of people smuggling transport, or pay the Chinese factory to deny certain orders, or pay the factory to retool and make another product. Once again, just an idea. Nothing is being done at the moment. They just keep coming.

So you could be seeing a couple of Somali's living next door. Time to keep an eye on the missus and Daughters.
