Broken Britain.

Featured Replies

Obviously even the casual observer can readily see with their own eyes the FAILURE of the British Educational System to teach proper English writing skills.

Did y'all actually graduate from a UK high school or drop out because you know more than your teachers did

Your teachers suck or maybe it's the students bit dense

Britain is so broken that it is heading towards a civil war, after which it will become officially known as The European Republic of Islam. 😂

Labour are well on the way to fixing "broken Britain". It can't be expected to be fixed in 2 years.

Stunning English ability.

Don't sentences in English require a verb.

WHERE VERB 😭

Should be: where is the verb.

Similar to this: Bugger off, Delores.

As I wrote, there may be problems in other cities.

Plenty on the internet about it. Many have areas in them that have become slums.

Don't you mean London is still a wonderful place, and London is not falling apart? You didn't go anywhere else.

The tens of thousands of tourists I saw everyday prove that.

You've admitted the UK has "problems." What has tourism got to do with those problems? Tourists get to leave, in general, citizens don't.

The doom and gloom campaign is tiresome.

Any doom and gloom that exists comes from statistics, facts, actual events and government policy, not a short visit to London.

No surprise then the Police are not taking anymore Action on Zak Polanski the green party leader regarding the call for the incitement to murder against Farage. Two tier in Action. One goes to prison for a Tweet the other is let off let off for an incitement incident. I bet if it was a Reform supporter doing the same he would have been arrested with the headline far right member faces calls for murdercharge.

So let me understand. It was a picture of a man in a T Shirt which he pretty much immediately took down. It was stupid, very stupid, and he should definitely at least apologise for it. But it was in a man in a T Shirt with no commentary against it. But it was bad taste and unbecoming of a politician.

Lucy Connolly encouraged people to set fire to a hotel full of people. She posted in her own words and left it up until it was seen hundreds of thousands of times. Nigel Farage feted her as a folk hero, invited her on stage at their party conference, even told America that she'd turned the UK into an "awful authoritarian" state and that the police have no business interfering in to what we post online.

Then he squeaks about this "incitement to murder" and runs to the police. Any opportunity to make political capital out of anything and he's on it, no matter how hypocritical or ridiculous.

Makes a heroine out of Lucy Connolly then goes running to the police when someone posts a picture of a man in a T Shirt.

He's a ridiculous con man, bottom of the barrel.

Good grief, you lot see conspiracies everywhere! I thought it was the left that were supposed to be 'snowflakes', not the hard right!

If you replaced the word "Nigel" on the shirt with, say, "Keir", or "Angela" or even "Mohammed" would it still not be an offence?

Yes, I have previously visited England. Locations visited included York, Cambridge, Oxford, Nottingham, Bath and others. The one place that I found grimy and sketchy was Basingstoke. Despite my dislike of the place, I did not see a nation in collapse or over-run by savages.

Yes, there is lots of negativity on the internet. Often it shows a situation far worse than the reality. In some cases, the source is foreign with an intent to sow discord and social upheaval in the nation.

Tourism is a strong indication of the state of a nation. If a destination is is unsafe or dysfunctional, tourist will avoid it. Visitors to London still exceed 20 million per annum. That is a fantastic number when one considers the cost of a visit. In comparison, low cost Phlippines only manages to attract approximately 5 million visitors. Many people on this website sing high praise for Vietnam, yet it only manages about 21 million visitors in a year.

Yes, the UK and England has its problems. Other advanced wealthy nations have similar issues The countries will sort through these issues. There will be disruption along the way, but none of these countries is in a state of anarchy, or collapse the way it is described by the those who see the bad in everything and are never satisfied unless they are disparaging and ripping things apart.

This seems to be the misunderstanding in this thread.

I'll clarify my position, again. I never said the UK will break out into civil war next week. I have said it is heading towards a civil war, and I stand by this.

I guess one can only truly know the situation by living in places like Basingstoke.

In my opinion, tourism is irrelevant to this tread. Crime can happen to anyone.

Can you name a few of the problems? How will the UK sort through these problems? What disruptions do you see ahead?

I ask these questions already knowing the problems, which the UK government have not been able to sort out, and there have already been many disruptions.

Once again, the problems and disruptions, which successive governments in the UK have been unable to address, will just keep getting bigger and bigger and more frequent, until it kicks off.

The most serious problem is the UK has lost control of its borders, and the majority of illegal immigrants are males of fighting age.

The UK has gone through tough patches. Life was very harsh and grim over the centuries. The plague wiped out 1/2 the country and destroyed the economy, multiple civil wars laid waste to the country, the environmental crisis of Europe in 1314-1316 that saw the country plunged into successive droughts that resulted in a continental famine, WWI, the Great Depression, WWII , the urban decay of the 1970's et al are periods that were far worse and that did far greater damage to the UK. And despite those horrible times, the country progressed and improved itself. It will do so again.

Did you miss out the Covid deaths a few years ago Patong where 220 thousand died in the UK 4 times the number during the blitz in WW2. People are still suffering from Covid to this day. So i'd say the UK has not recovered.

In those times the British had a widespread national loyalty and common bond, which is evidently not so strong these days.

If you need help on this issue Marra consider your typical GBNews presenter as more "performative" or "opinionated presenters" — not quite editorial commentators, but not neutral deliverers of facts either. They are there to twist your absorption of facts to fit their beliefs. They often use tone, facial expressions, or timing to signal agreement or disdain, which blurs the line between reporting and commentary.

At the times in history you mention, UK inhabitants were pretty much all British, and united. That's not so much the case today. The UK is multicultural, and divided, and becoming more divided by the day.

In any case, how do you propose the UK will progress and improve with such an economy drag caused by welfare?

Better still, practice The Ostrich Method. Don't watch any TV and tell yourself it's not happening. You could end up being the Prime Minister. 😂

You say that like not only getting your "news" from biased, dishonest, right wing sources is a bad thing. It's good to have a broader outlook.
