Two men, aged 23 and 31, have been arrested on suspicion of murder after Valentina Foster, seven, and her aunt Natalie McDonald, 34, died in the blaze on Wednesday.

Police believe the fire may be a gang-related response to a wrong-way car crash on the A66 that killed two police officers and five other people on Saturday.

On Tuesday, it emerged that the A66 crash happened less than an hour after an alleged gang dispute led to an SUV ramming a house belonging to the father of one of the youths who died in the crash.
