and decided for now that it would just be a ridiculous ego thing.

The ego thing is simply an extension of an individual’s insecurities, there’s quite a bit of it floating around and it’s quite a silly look both here and out on the street.

That's a new one. 😊 I might be inclined to believe that you just go around in circles, repeating exactly the same things, year after year.

You cannot move beyond that.

Others have a life, but some do not understand that because they are too busy imagining other people's lives.

Do I need to to apply for a temporary leave from the forum?

I agree but sometimes I don't walk the talk. I definitely have insecurities but I keep them in check most the time.

Remember when you wrote that you have learned to look at how you respond? How long did that last?

Old habits die hard. You are getting old. Adapt whilst you still can, if you can.

I must really be insecure then cheesy

I do try to keep it all to myself, and not 'out on the street'.

So you’re raising your children into their fifties, that’s quite interesting. And your spouse breast feeding them until what age, up until their twenties?

Fred is already 68!

I haven't seen anyone threaten him. Have you? Can you make any sense of that post at all?

@fredwiggy is his own worst enemy.

Not while I'm alive!

Everyone has ego, even monks. Though to the point of getting flared out having to be noticed and regarded as being the center of special and a delusional belief of being infallible is a bit childish.

Why is this any different from living in a Western country? If your wife is staying at home looking after a couple of very young kids, surely she needs some cash of her own to spend? Where else would she get it except from her husband/partner..

In the West it would be seen much more as a family income. And when I say family I mean immediate family. Not parents, brothers, sisters, other family hangers on etc etc.

Nothing wrong with that at all and I bet many of us were raised in similar households. 98% of Expats here pay the vast majority if not all household expenses. Definitely exceptions but they are rare. For better or worse, most Thai women are looking for financially secure men and that goes for women with good jobs. My relationship is one of those exceptions but I just wandered into it and that wasn't my intent. I could really care less when I met her if she had money.

I think there is a middle ground. I drove a cheap motorbike that I picked up in the town I'm living and was travelling in a camper I made. THe truck was nice but people thought I was selling solar panels because it had them on the sides and the top. I looked poor to the locals. I didn't care at the beginning but once I got rid of the ugly camper and the cheap motorbike the locals seemed to give me more respect. Could of all been in my head but I don't think it was. Could have said, screw them and did my thing but I think I made the best decision. The nicer home, motorbike, and getting rid of the ugly camper was a good idea.

Sure that's true But Lazada gets more of her income than those you suggest

You might be better off focusing more on yourself instead of spending so much time on other people’s weaknesses.
