English may be an ethnicity but it is a theoretical one. As I pointed out previously, there are very few, if any, pure-blooded English people alive today. We are a bunch of mograls.

If you widen the definition to include anyone who might have Anglo-Saxon, Jute, etc blood then, at the very least, you allow for mixed-race individuals e.g. Jude Bellingham to be English.

How is denying opportunities for people because of their race (white) promoting equal opportunities?

By giving preference to certain races (black/brown) they deny the opportunity for those of other races. It's racist, and you support it.
