Rudy Giuliani Hospitalised in Critical Condition

Featured Replies

Rudy Giuliani, the former mayor of New York City and one-time personal lawyer to Donald Trump, has been admitted to hospital and is reported to be in critical but stable condition, according to his spokesperson.

Get today's headlines by email image.png

Ted Goodman, speaking on behalf of the 81-year-old, said Giuliani was receiving medical care but did not disclose the cause of his hospitalization or identify the facility where he was being treated.

“Mayor Rudy Giuliani is currently in the hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition,” Goodman wrote on social media on Sunday. He added that the former mayor “is a fighter” who has confronted challenges throughout his life and was continuing to show the same determination while in hospital.

Goodman also asked supporters to pray for Giuliani’s recovery.

Limited Details on Hospitalisation

No further details have been released about what prompted Giuliani’s admission to hospital, and his spokesperson has not said when he was first admitted.

Giuliani, once widely known for his leadership of New York City during the aftermath of the September 11 attacks, has remained a prominent political figure in recent years due to his close association with Trump.

Trump Confirms Hospitalisation

President Trump confirmed Giuliani’s hospitalization in a message posted on his social media platform, Truth Social.

In the post, Trump described Giuliani as a “true warrior” and praised him as the best mayor in the history of New York City. He also used the message to criticise Democrats, accusing them of treating Giuliani unfairly.

Trump wrote that it was “sad” to see Giuliani in hospital and repeated claims that political opponents had targeted him.

Legal Battles After the 2020 Election

Giuliani played a prominent role in efforts by Trump and his allies to challenge the outcome of the 2020 United States presidential election. Acting as Trump’s personal attorney, he helped lead legal attempts to overturn the results in several states.

Many of those lawsuits were dismissed by courts.

Following his involvement in those efforts, Giuliani was disbarred in both New York and Washington, D.C., with disciplinary authorities concluding that he had made false statements about the election.

He has also faced criminal charges in the states of Georgia and Arizona related to attempts to overturn the election results. Giuliani has denied wrongdoing in those cases.

In addition, he was listed as an unindicted co-conspirator in the federal election interference case brought against Trump by special counsel Jack Smith.

Despite the legal challenges, Giuliani has remained an outspoken supporter of Trump and continues to be a visible figure in US political debates.

For now, attention has turned to his health, with supporters awaiting further updates on his condition.

He was one who decided to go off the deep end during one Trump era.

Maybe a bad decision.

I'm quite sure this warrior do not end up in Valhalla either, and if he is going somewhere, it is hopefully hell. Another crook ready to meet his creator

My 9/11 hero .

What went wrong ?

My 911 hero if I had to pick one would be Hurley Haywood.

I really only celebrate the demise of truly evil men. Rudy is one of them.

Disclaimer. I was prosecuted by Giuliani for the Columbia demonstrations...and acquitted.

He was reasonably OK as Mayor of NYC.

But then later he went completely maga-rific insane.

I see a flawed human being and I have compassion for the tragic downward trajectory of his later life and wish him a good and peaceful death.

In other words, I still see some good qualities in the man looking at his entire life, unlike Trump who I consider to be evil.

Borat and stuck flies. Up until then, it was normal politics.

"take my an us not hers!"

As for 911, I suspect any Mayor would have reacted similarly, and would have received praise in the heat of the moment. In the coldness of day, 911 first responders claim he exagerrated his attendance at the scene. He relocated the New York City Office of Emergency Management to the WTC, packed the basement with diesel to power said command centre, claiming the WTC was the best possible site. The Director of Emergency Management wanted it located to Brooklyn. In hindsight, maybe not a great idea to locate it to the 23rd floor of the tellest building in NYC.

Boris Johnson was praised in his reaction to the 7/7 bombings. But he was a terrible human being. BorisYeltsin was widely admired when he climbed on top of a tank to defy the 1991 coup. But a terrible human being.

All of this lot believe their own propaganda, illistrated by Boris's breathless podium speech where he claimed COVID nearly killed him but for the kind touch of a Spanish nurse.

Which year was this. And you consider him evil on the basis of your alleged contact with him, or are you taking an overall view of his life while refraining from providing a detailed justification.

You were acquitted because you weren't there?

Hah, I showed up to court. I just realised it was not the Columbia protest at which I was also arrested. It was a group prosecution for those who had sat in at Dow Chemical in Rockefeller Center to protest their production of napalm. 1966.

Perhaps he was not evil then. But he certainly grew a love for it.

Ok, Carl, since it was 1966, when you stated:

You are mistaken, because in 1966, Giuliani was just starting his second year at law school, but you have no specific incidents where you can say Giuliani did evil acts. Giuliani didn't prosecute a case until 1970. You were in Canada by September 69, so you could not have met Mr Giuliani in court, at least, not until the 1980s/

Did you actually stop using Saran wrap?

Guiliani was a minor DA official until he announced

the biggest tax fraud in US history. Marc

Rich fled to Zurich and became a near billionaire .

The case was settled for ....three million dollars decades

later.

Marc Rich 's family fled the Nazis , he fled Guilliani..

Memory is a funny thing, ain't it. I have a very firm recollection of Giuliani being my prosecutor for one of my ~35 arrests but...???

I can't remember Saran Wrap being a big thing in the 60s but I may not have been paying attention!

Giuliani believed that the 2020 US election result, in which Biden was alleged to have obtained 81 million votes, the highest ever, was rigged.

This man used to be highly regarded and highly respected, and he trashed his own reputation and completely diminished his stature by becoming a schill for Don and trying to defend that which is absolutely indefensible.

Very few are going to mourn this guy, and he likely has very little sympathy around the world. He has become a major creep.

Trump showing once again what a hypocrite he is. He owed Giuliani millions of dollars in legal fees, but never paid him a dime. Stiffed him, like he's stiffed tens of thousands of people and small businesses who worked for him and he owed money to.

And now Trump is singing Giuliani’s praise, after stabbing him in the back. What a great guy! What a wonderful president!

Who cares about Giuliani, he should do everyone a favor and fall off of his perch.

Frankly, not harsh enough. This man went from being a hero to millions to being a toxic piece of street junk, lobbying and lying for one of the most corrupt and morally bankrupt men in American history.

That is what Trump does, a lot of people still don't understand the fact that he has devoted his entire career to ripping off people, both large and small, and the vast majority of his fortune comes from stolen money and illicit proceeds.

Add to that the billions of dollars in GOP condoned corrupt presidential money and you have the most morally bankrupt man in the history of the American presidency. And Giuliani worked for him for years. Both men are absolute gutter trash.

Fair point. Fair assumption. Looked rigged.

Do you know Jeff Sachs?

He's at Columbia.

I still have to laugh whenever the Four Seasons Landscaping event is mentioned. Who else could locate a press conference between a porn store and a crematorium. A typically trumpian kind of stupid.

Perfectly describes them Both.

Excellent location for a press conference.

Your view, fair enough, however I'm sure you're aware that not everyone, in the USA and elsewhere, agrees with you.

Likely correct. Only 99%.
