Thai Man Assaulted by Tourist on Pattaya Beach

Featured Replies

A 29-year-old Thai delivery rider was assaulted by a foreign tourist, reported by witnesses to be Russian, on Pattaya beach in the early hours of 4 May 2026 after politely warning him not to smoke cannabis in a public area. The incident, which occurred around 2:00 AM along the beachfront, was captured on video and widely shared on social media. The victim, Mr Kittiphong Sa-adchandrai, sustained injuries during the confrontation, prompting public concern.

Mr Kittiphong said he had been relaxing and eating with friends at a beachside table when a nearby foreign tourist began smoking cannabis, causing a strong odour to spread. He approached the man courteously and advised that smoking cannabis in a public area was inappropriate and against Thai law and local beach regulations. Despite an attempt by the tourist’s Thai girlfriend to calm the situation, the man became agitated.

As Mr Kittiphong turned to return to his table, the tourist allegedly attacked him from behind, triggering a scuffle. The suspect reportedly claimed to be a “boxer” during the confrontation and challenged others, stating he could act as he wished. The victim added that another group of Thai diners had earlier warned the same individual and were also assaulted in a similar manner.

Pattaya municipal officers arrived quickly to bring the situation under control. However, the foreign tourist continued provocative behaviour, walking around the area and making obscene gestures towards the victims and officials. Authorities instructed both parties to separate and ordered the tourist to return to his accommodation to prevent further escalation.

The incident has sparked widespread discussion online, with some social media users calling for stricter enforcement of public conduct rules and a review of tourism policies. Questions have also been raised about the lack of immediate charges against the suspect at the scene. No serious injuries were reported, and the situation was eventually contained.

Daily News reported that authorities are expected to review CCTV footage and witness statements as part of an ongoing investigation into the incident. Further legal action may depend on the outcome of the inquiry and the formal complaints filed by those involved.

The tourist is lucky he didn't get the <deleted> kicked out of him by a Thai mob.

You're in real trouble if the dirty herd rocks up.

Did you watch the video? What do you see?

Sorry, but that's not at all what the video shows. It shows the Thai delivery driver/Muay Thai player attacking someone, possibly the tourist, then the tourist's Thai friend stepping in to help defend him.

Then the Thai delivery driver/Muay Thai player is shown attacking the friend too.

A bearded Russian man steps in to help the break the fight up.

It shows an inconsiderate pothead attacking someone because they were asked not to smoke that sh*t next to them....so much for no one on ganga is violent..wait for it...it's the drink 😁 😁 😁

I thought cannabis users were supposed to be mellow?

Correct. Alcohol encourages violence, cannabis encourages calm. Combine the two, however, and alcohol takes over.

getting into a fight is completely stupid.

it's never going to be a 1 on 1 fair fight.

I am not condoning his behaviour but can you blame this tourist from thinking that what he did was ok and accepted when he arrived and saw more pot shops than 7/11's in town.

Arrest, fine, deport and ban.

yep, some guys on here have an unhealthy hatred of all foreigners for whatever reason.

maybe not everything was caught on film.

cops are not stupid. they will get to the bottom of it.

and thais need a valid reason for attacking.

if you don't pay your 5000 Baht bar tab and get aggressive, that's a valid reason.

in this case, i don't know.

City Police sent him home. It's done. The attacker crying after he threw the first punch is pathetic. He started the fight.

Christ on a bike! How bloody thick does one have to be to think the short video clip covers the entire fracas?

There are more gun shops and brothels in BKK than 7/11s...doesn't mean you have to go round shooting prostitutes...besides the law states for medicinal purposes and not in public which he chose to disobey both 👍

People should mind there own business at 2.00Am.

Plenty of room along the beach.

( He approached the man courteously and advised that smoking cannabis in a public area was inappropriate and against Thai law and local beach regulations. )

Yeah sure. cheesy

The smell of weed is potent , it absolutely stinks .

Does cause strong smell for those close by .

It is actully illegal to smoke it in public .

The smoker could have gone to secluded spot , rather then smoking right next to people eating

50 years ago but not in the stuff now

Yes but that's not what happned.

But what did happen was a Thai man/boy went over to read the riot act to a falang at 2am on a beach.

And it all went wrong on him. now posing for a picture, after a smack in the gob.

Mind your own business at 2am, it's easy. well for most people.

Well, why don't you go down the beach tonight, and mouth off at all the Thai guys smoking pot.

Let us know how it went.

Ps don't forget to take a couple of cans of instant whoopass with you. coffee1

Do I need to read the story for you ?

From the report above :

"Mr Kittiphong said he had been relaxing and eating with friends at a beachside table when a nearby foreign tourist began smoking cannabis, causing a strong odour to spread."

You don't need to read it for me, you need to understand it for yourself. Have you ever visited that beach? Which restaurants do you imagine are open there at 2am?

Stop digging...

I am just going by the media report .

So, what really happened ?

If the report is wrong, could you give the correct version ?

LOL, are you getting aggressive ? :)

Just now, Nick Carter icp said:

No of course he is not...pot smokers especially never get aggressive...maybe a point that hasn't been raised is the guy said he was a boxer, yes a boxer...I know it's not a popular view but it's the truth, so many westerners come to spa 😁 learn Muay Thai 🥊 and after a few hours group sessions they are all world champs...see it everyday the way they ride their rented space bikes and visit the weed shops after leaving the gym. Now I am supposed to believe that weed calms you down and doesn't make you aggressive 😁 😁 😁 it messes with their brains, think they are invincible and this is the outcome. The guys lucky, 20 years ago he would of been shot!!!

The question is ...did the pot assistant in the potshop advise the pothead that he it was against the law to smoke it in a public place and especially the beach. ???

The last sidearm I bought here they never mentioned I can't shoot people, and I haven't, and the last brothel I went to they never said I couldn't have sex with the staff...nothing like a bit of victim blaming, know the laws of the country you are visiting especially when it involves drugs. He was politely asked to stop but he chose to ignore the Thai guy because he is a spaced out boxer able to do whatever he wants 😁

Well done Thai man, and I am sorry you got injured while dining with your family.

It is about time these social (non medical) pot smokers with their abnoxious fumes were banned and deported!

Pot heads do not forget the red thumbs down!!
